No to Hartwells Student Build

Hartwells plan to build up to 500 student beds on the site currently occupied by their garage on Newbridge Road. The entrance to the new site would be on the apex of the blind bend opposite Charmouth and Rosslyn Roads.The developers are trying to railroad the local community by only making the plans available in a limited exhibition on 1st May with minimal leafleting. Unlike most developers they have not engaged with the Ward Concillors before going ahead with public consultations (yet the drawings show the road as it was over a year ago). They plan to go to the council for outline planning permission by the end of May 2014. This is lightning fast and seems designed to try to avoid a propper public debate.

if you are concerned or think that this scheme is not welcome in a residential district please sign this petition to have the scheme thrown out by the Council at the outline planning stage and force the devlopers to engage in proper consultation with residents about the long term future of this site.
