Petition for Additional Street Lighting Outside Rathsillan Housing Estate, Tullow, Co. Carlow

The Rathsillan Residents' Committee is looking for signatures to put forward our request to Carlow County Council/Councillors for the installation of additional street lighting to the entrance of our housing estate. The current lighting provision at the estate entrance is insufficient, particularly during autumn and winter months. This creates significant safety concerns for pedestrians, children, elderly residents, cyclists and motorists entering or exiting the estate. Improved lighting for our estate would enhance road and pedestrian safety, support safe school commutes and bus access, improve visibility for emergency services, reduce trip and fall risks, deter anti-social behaviour, and promote a safer, more accessible community environment. We believe that installing additional street lighting at this location is a reasonable and proportionate safety measure that would significantly benefit residents and visitors alike.
