PETITION FOR JUSTICE: In Memory of Mncedisi "Situation" Qenge

We, the members of the Makhanda (Grahamstown) community, stand united in our grief, anger, and demand for justice following the tragic and brutal murder of one of our own — Mncedisi Qenge, affectionately known as “Situation”.

Mncedisi was more than a name in our streets. He was a leader, a mentor, a brother, and a pillar of hope for many, especially in the sporting world. From his time as a player for United Fighters F.C., Joza Callies, to his impactful coaching role at XI Attackers F.C., Mncedisi inspired generations through football and community service. His legacy lives in the hearts of all who had the honour of knowing him.

On or around the 13th of April 2025, Mncedisi's life was tragically taken in an alleged act of cold-blooded violence. It is claimed that the suspect, a known figure within the community, not only stabbed him, but after the knife broke, went to fetch another one, returning to continue the attack. This horrific act is not only a personal loss to the Qenge family but a devastating blow to the entire community.

We demand:

• A thorough, transparent investigation into the killing of Mncedisi Qenge.

• The suspect was arrested and denied bail for the safety of our community.

• Justice should be served swiftly and fairly through the appropriate legal channels.

• I hope that this case will be treated with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.

We speak with one voice when we say: Enough is enough. We will not allow this act of cruelty to go unanswered. We will not be silent.

Let justice be done for Mncedisi “Situation” Qenge.
Let his name not be forgotten.
Let his spirit inspire us to rise against violence in our communities.
