PETITION TO IMPROVE THE STATE OF COUNCIL-OWNED FLATS IN REIGER PARK
We, the residents of Council-owned flats in Reiger Park, demand immediate attention and action to address the dire and rotting state of our homes. The persistent neglect and lack of maintenance have created a ticking time bomb, putting our lives at risk.
We, herewith petition the MMC for Human Settlements to: (1) immediately repair broken staircases and infrastructure to ensure safety; (2) regularly maintain and upgrade the infrastructure of Council-owned flats to prevent further deterioration, and; (3) prioritize vulnerable residents' needs, including those with disabilities. The MMC must conduct an urgent inspection of Council-owned flats, develop a comprehensive plan to address the crisis, and provide a timeline for implementation.
