Petition to Allow Reasonable Music at the Pool Area
To: The Complex Management / Body Corporate
We, the undersigned residents of The Apollo complex, respectfully request that the current ban on playing music in the pool area be reconsidered.
We understand and appreciate the importance of maintaining a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all residents. However, we believe that a complete ban on music is unnecessarily restrictive, particularly in an area intended for residents to relax, socialise, and enjoy their leisure time.
We propose that music be permitted in the pool area at a reasonable and considerate volume, provided that it does not disturb other residents or interfere with the enjoyment of the area by others.
To ensure that everyone's interests are respected, reasonable guidelines could be introduced, such as:
- Music must be kept at a moderate volume.
- Music should not be played during designated quiet hours.
- Residents should be considerate of others using the pool area.
- Management may request that the volume be reduced if it becomes disruptive.
- Repeated unreasonable noise could result in the relevant resident losing the privilege of playing music.
We believe this approach would provide a fair balance between residents who enjoy listening to music and those who value a quieter environment. A complete prohibition is not necessarily required when sensible volume limits and consideration for others can address potential disturbances.
We therefore respectfully ask the management/body corporate to review the current policy and consider allowing music at a reasonable volume under appropriate guidelines.
We believe this change would make the pool area a more enjoyable and welcoming space while continuing to protect the peace and comfort of all residents.
