Petition to Remove Friday Practices for Student-Athletes at DME

As dedicated student-athletes, we take pride in representing our soccer club with commitment, discipline, and respect for the game. Our goal is always to perform at our highest potential while maintaining a healthy balance between academics, athletics, and personal well-being.

We would like to respectfully request that Friday practices be removed from our weekly training schedule. Many of us have academic responsibilities throughout the week and competitive matches on Saturdays or Sundays. Training late on Fridays often leads to fatigue, which can impact both our physical recovery and our game-day performance.

We also believe that, as teenagers, Friday evenings should be a time to rest, spend time with family, or enjoy a break with friends after a demanding week. This time to relax helps us recharge mentally and physically, which ultimately improves our performance on the field.

We appreciate that coaches have tried to make Friday sessions less intense; however, as a result of coaches making training less intense of friday we don't get a full training session on fridays, we believe we should replace fridays training to mondays and get a full week of training. Allowing Friday evenings for rest and recovery would help players stay healthier, more motivated, and better prepared for weekend matches.

This petition reflects our shared belief that proper rest and personal balance are essential parts of athletic development—and that training smarter, not longer, will help us reach our full potential as student-athletes.
