FAIR PAY – NOT DECIDED BY AN ALGORITHM
Join the campaign for fair pay for digital platform workers
Digital platforms call us ‘partners’, but the most important terms of the partnership do not depend on our agreement, but on the platform’s decisions.
Today, platforms can change the terms of pay and commission, while workers have no real opportunity to negotiate them.
Our work is not a commodity whose price can change every minute. We are people who work and must receive clear, fair and predictable pay for our work. The remuneration for our work must be clear and known in advance. We demand that digital platforms:
-
Conclude service or employment contracts with workers where remuneration and payment terms would specified;
-
Restrict suspension of accounts by automatic decisions and provide the opportunity to appeal such a decision;
-
Provide public information on the number of workers and the level of remuneration on digital platforms.
The petition is addressed to the Committee on Social Affairs and Labour, and is also being sent to Bolt, Bolt Food, Uber, Wolt and Last Mile.
The petition will be submitted once at least 500 signatures have been collected.
