Save Our Stripes
Dear Mr Cortese
As Supporters and Fans of Southampton Football Club we appreciate everything that has been done in bringing our beloved team back into the Premiership and all ongoing efforts to reach even greater heights.
However, our clubs heritage and history is built on our striped shirt, something Southampton has been wearing since 1896. We here signed believe that to take away our shirt stripes is akin to taking away our history and we would implore you to reconsider this change to an all red kit.
No reason has ever been offered us as to why this change of kit was necessary and a return to our recognised and much loved striped shirt & black shorts would be much appreciated. As supporters and fans surely we deserve the right to have an opinion regarding this matter and at very least should have been consulted and our opinion sought. Afterall, without us there would be no reason for Southampton FC.
