I have been paying taxes for 30 years. I am unable to drive this road, with a speed limit of 80km/h. I am busy replacing the suspension of my car due to driving this road. 8 bolts on my trailer broke on this road. There are small kids playing next to the road. I own a residential property in Crystal Waters, a suburb of Clanwilliam. I have to travel on Ou Kaapse Weg however the road is ever increasingly unsafe (+10 years) with ; sharp rocks, stones, disappearing side of the road, an increase in traffic large trucks, pedestrians; children, adults, animals.Mark Kilbride (Cape Town, 2026-03-23)

I am very concerned about the negative impact the gravel road surface has and will continue to have on tourism in future. I travel this road regularly and its condition has deteriorated so much over the last few years that I am reluctant to visit Clanwilliam.One cannot allow such a popular destination suffering the consequences because of a lack of road infrastructure maintenance.

I'm signing this petition because I have had to replace 3 tyres already in the last monthand it looks like I may now have to replace a 3rd tyre,This is TOTALLY unacceptable. Surely something positive can be done here. NONE of the Municipal Seniors will be willing to drive this road every day.

This is one of the worst roads I have travelled on in a long time. It is a disaster for any vehicle and if I continue to travel on this road daily as at present, I am gouing to sue the Municipality and Roads department for the breakdown of my vehicle. I'm sighning this petition because I'm a regular citizen from Clanwilliam and have to drive this road with a small car which is impossible at the moment.
