Stop Booting Cars of First Offense Drivers in Boulder

I myself was booted on my first offense by Colorado Parking Services, and downright outraged by it. Not only was I booted at my own place of residency, but I was given no warning for the infraction despite it being my first one. The amount of cars that get booted and not moved in a timely manor is also a major problem because it blocks permitted drivers by parking in spots taken by unpermitted drivers. Boulder Parking Services and Colorado Parking Services charge anywhere from $50-$160 on first offense tickets and are both on board with putting boots on cars on sight, which just feels totally wrong. In light of the vast student community who commutes to campus, I believe first-offense ticket charges should be reduced and boot protocols must be updated in order to make our community happier and more accessible.
