Stop Closure of Kids Club at Fitness Connection

As dedicated and longtime members of Fitness Connection, we respectfully request that you reconsider the decision to close the Kids Club childcare program at the University location in Charlotte, NC. It is understood that this amenity will be no longer available on February 1, 2025, however it is a vital resource that enables parents to prioritize their health and fitness while ensuring their children are cared for in a safe and engaging environment.  

The value of the Kids Club not only supports families, but it helps balance and create a space where health and community intersect – much like what the Fitness Connection mission statement states “to build healthier communities by making a high-quality gym experience accessible to all.”  

Many members have chosen Fitness Connection specifically for the family-friendly amenities. With Charlotte, NC being limited to gyms with unique amenities much like this, the closure of the Kids Club risks membership cancellations and could also result in diminished trust among loyal members.  

With these signatures before you, we’re asking for Fitness Connection to uphold their commitment to what their mission statement reads. Fitness Connection has built a reputation as a comprehensive fitness facility that serves diverse needs. Keeping the Kids Club open reinforces your dedication to that – inclusivity and family wellness.  

Understanding that operational challenges may have influenced this decision, we hope to believe there could be creative solutions that can address these concerns while maintaining the program. Options such as adjusted hours to meet the daily numbers, additional member support, or even community partnerships could help sustain the Kids Club.    

We, the undersigned, urge you to consider the long-term benefits of maintaining the Kids Club for the well-being of our community.
