Connect Aldington to Fibre Optic Broadband

Work starts outside Aldington exchange!

Just to let you know, they are beginning the work to put in the new fibre cabinet outside of Aldington exchange - see picture below. I spoke to the contractors who confirmed this.

I hope to put together an article in the Parish magazine soon to explain some of the pro's and con's when choosing the right Internet Service Provider, for those considering moving to fibre optic broadband when the time comes.

Thankyou to all who have signed the petition, it seems that Councillor Jane Martin rather took the momentum out of it by her announcement that "I have been working on your behalf on this for well over a year now and what KCC have now decided is that they will convert as many of those EO lines as possible themselves".

While this is to be welcomed it is worth noting that this is being undertaken using the existing funding and that I bought this to her attention (I have the email which shows that she was completely unaware) on 31 August 2014...... Make of this what you will, it is now in Jane Martin's hands who no longer responds to my emails on the subject but is happy to send me spam.
