Demand that all Toy suppliers in NZ, remove Grooming Troll Dolls from Shelves and Online stores.
An email was written and sent to several New Zealand Toy Departments on the 11th August asking them to please reply with their outcomes.
Farmers Trading Company, ToyWorld, The Warehouse, ToyCo, Kmart.
8 days later and not one has replied. All but one store (Kmart) have removed this Troll Doll from their website. All the other stores continue to allow these damaging toy Troll Dolls to remain on their shelves and online websites across New Zealand for your innocent children. To teach them that what is okay to do to your toy, is also acceptable for others to do to me.
The following is the email sent 11th August 2020:
I am writing in regards to a DreamWorks Doll called Poppy / "Superstar Poppy" and possibly the "Trolls Toddler Branch" and "Trolls Toddler Poppy".
This Trolls World Tour doll named "Poppy" has a button on her private area under her skirt. When you push this button on the doll’s private area, she gasps and giggles. This is not okay for a child’s toy! This is our society saying it is okay to groom our children into thinking that it is totally acceptable behaviour. This is our society saying it is okay to condition our children to think that pedophillia is normal.
What and how will this toy make our innocent and impressionable young children think? That it’s fun when someone touches your private area? That pedophilia and child molestation are ok? It’s not ok!!! It’s not fun!!! It is completely inappropriate!!! It’s damaging and has long term negative effects on a child’s mental, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing!
This toy needs to be removed from all of our stores across New Zealand Immediately!!
I also encourage you to please check the other Troll Dolls listed above, as these do not necessarily have information on the boxes as to whether they have buttons in all places, as Poppy did not state on the box that there were two buttons on her body. I also ask that you please offer a full refund to anyone returning these Troll dolls or an option to replace these returns with an exchange for another toy. I expect that all your stores around New Zealand will be asked to remove all inappropriate Troll Dolls from your store shelves and online websites immediately.
We as responsible parents and citizens do not want our innocent children being groomed.
We as responsible parents and citizens, want you as responsible Distributers of SAFE / DO NO HARM childrens toys ie. All Troll Dolls (which are obviously made with bad intentions as stated above) to be removed from your store shelves and online websites NOW.
Hasbro have pulled these toys from their shelves.
