The old Johannesburg Road is a nightmare - especially where it all narrows to one lane across the N14 hi-way. And not to mention the lawlessness of the taxis on this road.

The constant widening and narrowing of the road leads to accidents. Also, the camber of the road is horrific, particularly when crossing at Uitsig/Nelmapius. The edging of the road is falling apart and soon will cause serious vehicle damage or accidents.

I have lived in Valhalla since 1958 and cannot remember when last this road was up-graded. I refuse to use it after dark. Far too dangerous.

I've been using this road for more than 40 years and despite occasional repairs and minor upgradings, deteriorating road conditions and increased traffic makes it increasingly hazardous to all who uses this road!

For years people have not travelled this road as it passes by Soweto, so why is there a petition now, no white person should be on that road period

I completely agree with this article, and especially that the road is so dark. I found out this week that The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has a “Find & Fix” smartphone application that was launched last year.
The app lets users report potholes, faulty traffic lights, storm water drain problems, and missing manhole covers.

Maybe we as the community could use this app as a platform to get our views across to the powers that be? You can download this from the app stores (windows, Android and iphone)
