It is a sad tragedy a life was lost doing what she loved and all love and thoughts to her family. I do not think she would want him put down because he is a wild animal that acted out as a wild animal

What idiots would want to kill an innocent animal. For goodness sake its a a wild animal. As if it knows it did wrong. They were born to kill to survive.
So what you just kill whatever whenever?? This is so sad a life was taken. My heart goes out to the family.

This was not Oz's fault. Heartfelt condolences to the zookeeper's family and friends and staff at Hamilton zoo. Please do not kill Oz! Otherwise it will be a double tragedy!

A shame its required. Sorry for the life lost but euthanasing the Tiger is not a reasonable action in my opinion.

This is not Oz's fault this is a sad tragedy Oz was just doing what is natural to him. Would the lady actually want this for Oz?
My heart goes out to her family and loved ones tho and all the keepers at Hamilton Zoo, and Auckland Zoo where Oz came from.
Please do not euthanize him it would just be a double tragedy.

It wasn't the tigers fault condolences to the family but obviously she didn't take the safety procedures upon entering the tigers den. It is a wild animal its only doing what it knows best to be wild and attack.
(To the family,
My deepest condolences to you's on this sad day. I'm sorry for your loss but don't hurt the tiger!)

With only 500 Sumatran Tigers left in existence ur considering euthanasia? A harsh lesson was learnt 2day, certainly not this tigers fault! Oz certainly didn't invite the handler into his domain so don't blame him!

If you kill the tiger for killing a person then every single murderer should be put to death as well. This tiger is born it be a predator it is wrong to keep them closed up for show and tell. FREE THE TIGER!! I am so very sorry to the family of the keeper. My very deepest sympathy to you all.

Tigers are wild & they do wild things as they were in nature.
Including killing for food ( I know the zoo keeper wasn't food) the tiger shouldn't be put down because of it. No matter how well you think you know an animal or the length of time you've worked with one. A person should always be cautious. A wild animal is a wild animal

please remember this is a wild animal and must not be held accountable for its action in the same way a human being would be.
Lets show compassion as human beings and by understanding that the tiger was acting in accordance to its animal instincts .

It is tragic what has happened but it is a risk taken when working with any wild animal. Feel for the family but I am sure that the women keeper killed would not want this animal euthanased.

I singned this as i don't believe they should punish this animal for doing what he is naturally born to do. If they want to prevent these sorts of things happening then don't take them from there natural habitat in the first place!!

Its a wild animal its what they do if something comes in there way..she should not have gone in there ..human error so why should the tiger suffer

Not the tigers fault..human error on their part ..they do what they are born to do..

It was clearly human error, not tiger error. It's been reported that Hamilton Zoo had another incident with a female keeper and a tiger a few years ago, but on that occasion the keeper managed to escape unscathed. Clearly that zoo needs to tighten up its procedures.

What a stupid idea!!! Killing a wild animal because it killed a person! What do we expect it to do!! For goodness sake, leave it be.

exactly my thought. Why euthanise this poor creature when it was doing all it knows and if the numbers are seriously low I can't understand why this decision is being considered, heart felt condolences to the family but don't sleep this mighty creature
