Because I don't think Oz the tiger should be euthanised....

animals do not belong in zoos, why persecute a tiger for killing prey - you can never tame a wild animal no matter how long it spends incarcerated for human gratification.

My deepest condolences to Ms Kudeweh, but killing oz is just opposite to her belief and care for the tiger.

this is a tragedy for both the zookeeper and her family, and the tiger. this is a wild animal cooped up in a tiny enclosure, and only doing what came naturally to it. don't blame the captive.

We caged this beautiful animal, then enter into that confined space which results in a tragedy and we want to follow that up with another tragedy by murdering Oz. Wake up humanity!

This is a wild animal. It's natural instincts are to kill...

The poor animal is always blamed and they don't hesitate to kill them. Why does a human deserve a second chance and not an animal? If we were locked up in a small pen our entire life I think we'd eventually turn on someone. He deserves to live!

Tigers are an endangered speices, they should not be put down for an act that was instinctive.
This should not however be seen as an act that demeans the death of Ozs keeper. It is a tragedy and my heartfelt condolences go out to her family friends and colleagues.

Although it is a tragic event for the family and everyone involved, all animal carers and zookeeers undertake their jobs knowing their vulnerability as human beings while attending to certain animal species that are kept in zoo's..These animals are normally ftee to roam their environment, watch over their land, protect their kin and kill anything that thteatens their existance. They hunt their prey and use their instincts to survive in the wild. They may be in a zoo but those animal traits will not be changed or become suppressed because of a fence or an enclosure. Save this tiger as he was just doing what we all go to zoo's to see- a tiger being a tiger!! He must have felt threatened for one reason or another and felt the need to attack at that time. Thankyou.

Watching the news on this matter made me really angry. I have done so much research into the captivity industry and its no wonder these animals are going crazy and injuring/killing their trainers and keepers. A wild animal deserves to be in the wild. It doesn't matter what the 'conditions' of its living are - Zoos and theme parks are a business that need to be closed down for good.

Because I love animals in general and the big cats in particular is the reason I signed the petition. It was not the animal's fault that the trainer died.

No wild animal should be in a zoo or any other compound. They belong in the wild

The tiger doesn't deserve to die. He/she doesn't deserve to live it's life in a zoo either. The zoo keeper knew the risk of working with a wild animal and took the chance.

The tiger is a WILD animal. It should be treated as such. The tiger was doing what was natural for it to do, attack. I am so sorry for the keepers family , it is a very tragic and sad thing to have happened. But don't underestimate WILD animals for goodness sake. And don't blame the animal.

Working with wild animals is always a risk; we can not blame an animal for his instincts, how ever sad it is for human loss

Because we shouldn't kill something that in there nature. Humans may be able to excuse our murderous nature in the sack of war or food but we cant excuse them for there nature? Silly silly world.

He's a tiger. Tigers are predators and given the chance there is the potential they will kill a person, we must accept this risk if we want to interact with them.

Tigers are not meant to be kept in captivity. My heart goes out to the zoo keepers family but it's not the tigers fault - it is a wild animal

This animal does not deserve to be put down. The keeper was in his territory and he was just following his instincts. Animals are not meant to be in zoos anyway.
