Jarron is the most down to earth straight up guy around. Councils treatment of him totally sucks.

Sounds like this man has had a raw deal from overpaid pencil pushers who don't give a damn about real people and their families out in the field doing the real work

Jarron deserves at the very least a fair "trial". To dismiss someone on such tenuous grounds is unfair in terms of employment conditions and ethically. His employers seem to have adopted the "we have made a decision and come hell or high water we are sticking to it approach or we will look silly approach". Do the right thing and give him his job back!!

I support natural justice...and this employer on this occasion has failed to protect its employee, in addition to the issues behind the unjustified dismissal .

There seems to be something not right about this dismissal
Local councils  often do things in an untransparent manner

He's not the first or will he be the last ranger who will face drunk campers who will get upset at what's been asked of them. Having seniors that are out of touch with what happens at the coalface in these areas when campers/tourists are under the influence of alcohol will not be helping his dilemma. Having a senior in the office who is a coward in the presence of pressure from the offended party, media and general public to please explain and their first reaction is to dimiss him, this does not give an employee the confidence to know what he/she has trained for or has worked at the reassurance they need at this time. A senior should take control of the situation and be firm with all parties that this issue will be dealt with in a professional manner. I feel for the Ranger as this has not been the case.

Because personal issues are behind this. Two wbopdc members are not professional enough to get over their personal issues with a long serving, conscientious ranger who did exactly as he should. The incident was used to try to oust Jarron with no justification. He also had NO support from this organisation (his employer). Who by the way represents us.

This is disgusting, our council are ridiculous, they have been instructed to give him his job back but won't as other say they will resign if they do?? Really ?? This man has a unblemished work history, otherwise, this is crazy.

We have known Jarron since he started work at the Tect Park, we are previous residents of Taumata Road which is nearby, he has our full unconditional support!! Jarron has made a hug difference to how the Park has been developed and his blood, sweat and tears are all over the site. He has given freely of his time 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The Tect Park is based in a remote area where there are unreliable communication networks available and no real-time physical back up for emergencies. The Council should be ashamed at the way this incident has been handled and take their share of the blame for not protecting their staff (and property) better. The Council need to visibly upgrade their safety procedures and policies for the park rules. Where are the usual signs banning alcohol in a public place? No entry after dark signs? And locked gates at dusk the same way that central city parks are locked? Jarron deserves an apology and reinstatement to the Park Ranger Role, and better protection for his life and family in future!! Regards, Nadine & Guy Dunlop
