#76 Austrlia need to relx its stringent visa conditions for PNGn's

2012-09-06 10:54

There is clearly an unfair balance between PNG and Australia in terms of visa requirements and conditions that favour the Australians. Australia needs to revisit its visa conditions and moderate it as it is too stringent and harsh in its current form.

PNG cannot continue to allow visas upon arrival. PNG citizens are required to get visas for most nations they visit prior to travel. This should be the general practice across the board whether it be Papua New Guinea citizens travelling abroad or persons of other nationalities travelling to PNG.

#81 PNG Visa to Australia

2012-10-04 13:23

Its always said that PNG and Australia are close neighbours and friends during the World War Two. Known as Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels. But in real life today, the Australians are more close to the Japs than to Papua New Guineans. We are so close...yet so far away with business affairs...we seem like strangers to the Australian....some don't even know where THE BATTLE OF MILNE BAY IS...The first Victory before Kokoda. They are very close in business with Japs they know them well and allow them to get visa online and on arrival not like the FUZZY WUZZY ANGELS...The Angels now, gets the hard knock back all the time for visa to Australia!! It is almost impossible!! Why is it that Australians open arms to the ones who took the lives of their young. While the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels who came from PNG who carried their Young Australia chocos, now dealt with unfairly.

Australian has long been PNG's colonial power and gained much in terms of resources to build its economy but has also been harsh on PNGians in obtaining visas. We should be sharing a mutual bond in-between us but for some reasons, Australia seem to be very cautious in dealing with us. That is unacceptable and a slap on the face. Compare to other Pacific neighbours, they are freely having smooth access. Just be fair and do your dealings with us the way you did yours with others. If it is for some reasons, it would be much appreciated only if you can outlined the reasons so that we can work around it to come to a benefitual conclusion for both of us.

PNG's got more to offer & Australia has more good to gain from relaxed or no VISA entry requirement than PNG. Eg: Eager cheap unskilled & dedicated work-force for farms; tourism as never experienced anywhere else in the world; immense business opportunities with current economic boom in PNG are only some.

If Australians can visa on arrival, why can't Papua New Guineans be allowed same?

It is an issue about being fair, foreigners are allowed to have a visa on arrival by PNG, we should be accorded the same offerring.

If Asisans of Indian,Bangladesh,Pakistani,Afgans can be allowed to flood Austraila, why cant Austrailia be fair with PNG when Australia is reping PNG off its Natural Resouces and having a strong grip on PNG's economic prosperity.

Its not at all correct to say that "The rest of the world entering Aussie land get "A" class treatment, PNG is treated like thrash, while they laugh away getting visas on arrival."

The problem for PNG is that it has not negotiated a visa treaty with Australia.

Truth is that the problem stems from inactivity from the PNG government.

The other thing is that Australia has been subject to massive invasion by "boat people" refugees over the last 20 years.

Australia is an independant nation just like PNG.

It has the right to determine who it permits to enter its boundaries.

Accusing the Commonwealth of Australia of raciscm does not support your cause.

Good point.

Its some thing that the PNG government needs to address because its absolutely to both nations benifit that young talented and able PNG's participate in the Australia work force rather than others with no immediate cultural or historical association.

I entirely agree with you on this point.

Thats just not how it works.
