Most of us take food for granted but for those with PKU it is a daily challenge. Anything that can help to reduce the monotony and increase the quality of the low protein diet will improve the life of Those with PKU and their families

Harry is a friend of mine but I wasn't aware that his wife suffered from PKU. I hope this petition will create more awareness of the illness and will lead to more PKU foods being made available in Ireland.

Every child needs a chance in life, it is so difficult for a small child to understand why he can't eat what his siblings and family eat. Please make life easier for all with this condition.

My nephew was diagnosed at birth with pku. If every other country in Europe can provide pku patients with up to date foods, Ireland should be able to too

I see the struggles my cousin has to endure day in and day out on her very limited PKU diet. Its unacceptable, a life long condition should be supported by the government to give suffers the best quality of life possible. Recovering heroin addicts have metadone prescribed by the state which I'm sure costs a pretty penny, but drug taking starts off by choice, PKU sufferers are born with this condition, they have had no choice ever but to live with it. It's food they can eat is all they ask for, good quality food, not the cheap muck that's forced on them.
