This is insane. The building looks beautiful. This type of nitpicking at a council level will discourage creative businesses from opening in the Moreland area.

Moreland council should have a good hard look at themselves. Haven't they got anything better to do, like provide us with services, for instance? Stop planting trees everywhere in footpaths that are too narrow for them, prune those that are there? Oh yes, they can't do that from an office in Bell Street. That might cost MONEY. Our money. Spend it wisely, NOT like this.

I've only been to this cafe once and there are 2 things that stick in my mind for all the right reasons - those yardsticks and the great coffee. Good luck with this petition folks.

I love the yardsticks on the front of this shop. It was an empty shop for so many years. It's great to see the old shop open again and being enjoyed.

I really liked this cache, and as one of the big winners in the 2013 cache of the year awards, it would be a shame if it went. I don't see how putting glass over the rulers will make the front blend in any more with it's environment.

As a West Brunswick resident who also lives in a street with heritage protection I believe that it is important to protect our suburb and keep it beautiful. Good on you John Gorilla for converting this otherwise ugly and empty building into something that adds value to this beautiful area.

This is a stunning addition to the road and the building. Have any members of the Council been on Sydney Road lately? Why not attack the shop owners whose shops are eye-sores? Pathetic!

This is absurd! It is not as if the rulers pose a danger to the public. This building has had new energy and life breathed into it. A stunning renovation and fit out. It was a sad desolate tired stretch prior to the opening. We support you John Gorilla 100%.

The yardsticks are gorgeous - very Brunswick, quirky, beautifully done...I have shown many people the café purely for the yardsticks. Leave them be.

We do not live in the area of JG. However, on passing by in the car, we noticed the yardsticks and thought "wow! How cool, lets have a coffee there". We think the cafe and it's facade are a wonderful use of imagination and artistic creativity. It would be sad to see the council ruin a fixture such as that. Councils job is to create community, not to be art critics. Fair go Moreland Council!!!
