#26 Re:2014-04-13 12:45What a good idea. Cheap and practicable. No doubt the "Health and Safety" morons will not allow it though. |

#272014-04-13 14:20It was such a shame earlier plans were abandoned - no access for travellers who cannot climb stairs really isn't acceptable. I'm sure it also has an impact on shops and businesses in Amersham. |

#282014-04-13 14:33Either install a lift or escort passengers across the line as used to done |

#292014-04-14 17:07It is essential that those with mobility problems; pushchairs; people with heavy suit cases have access to a lift at as many railway stations as possible and particularly at Amersham which serves a large community . |

#322014-04-15 19:54A lift at this station is a necessity not only for use by elderly or disabled people but also to improve access to platforms for all. |

#332014-04-16 07:46Re-opening the second bridge and a lift/ramp will significantly enhance the station's appeal as well as reduce congestion at the station entrance. |

#342014-04-16 19:30I cannot use Amersham Station when going to Aylesbury or returning from Harrow or London unless I do not have a bag to carry. |
Guest |
#352014-04-18 08:23I can no longer climb the steps to cross the tracks, so train travel to or from Amersham is no longer possible. |

#362014-04-19 11:11Just in case Chalfont and Latimer station exit on ground level is used as an excuse for no lift at Amersham station, note the exit closes automatically at 8 pm unless special arrangements may be which would require notice. |

#372014-04-19 11:15My wife and I are septuagenarians and it appalling that whenever we travel on the Eurostar to Europe we have to carry our suitcases over many steps at Baker Street and Amersham because there are no lifts or British Rail staff to help us. |
Guest |
#382014-04-19 11:24Just in case Chalfont and Latimer station ground level exit is suggested as an alternative to a lift at Amersham station, please note that Chalfont exit closes automatically at 8 pm requiring special arrangements for a later time which would need notice. |

#392014-04-19 13:19The alternative to Amersham for any disabled or heavily laden passenger is to get off at Little Chalfont, where the gate giving access to the Aylesbury platform has much shorter opening hours than the station. They are then stranded 3 miles from their objective & on the opposite side of the station from the taxi rank, with a hefty extra fare to pay to get home. Are these arrangements brainless or simply callous? |

#402014-04-20 13:47It is impossible for me to catch the train back to Amersham from London as I can no longer manage the stairs. Getting off at Little Chalfont is also difficult as the gate (on the flat) is closed during the evening. |

#412014-04-21 12:55as an older single woman struggling up this stair after a journey verges on the last straw |

#422014-04-30 09:47I use this station to travel to London and onward carrying a suitcase. I have to carry this case across the railway line on my return journey and there is no other means of getting over the line to the entrance/exit. I am no longer young and find this a great inconvenience. A lift is a necessity! |

#432014-05-01 09:11I often visit my son here and find the lack of a lift difficult especially as I have a bad hip so please get on with it ( thought the disability laws may help here? ) |

#442014-05-03 15:51I consider this vital. I have tried to manage a push chair with a baby in it and a toddler holding on to me and go up those stairs after a day out in London visiting their Mum in hospital. It is very EXHAUSTING |

#452014-05-15 08:25We need everybody to sign this petition as making our station at Amersham accessible for all is vital for the wellbeing of our growing elderly population, our residents with disabilities, people with push hairs and heavy luggage and those that cannot manage the two sets of steep stairs. Thank you for your support. |

#462014-05-15 08:33Please please sign this petition to enable fair access for all to Amersham station |

#482014-05-16 00:34I have been asking for this for several years now. I regularly used this station whilst heavily pregnant but had to stop once I had a buggy as I could not manage all the steps. Its a shame that a couple of years ago this plan was scrapped |

#492014-05-18 11:52This has been a problem at Amersham station for many years now and it really is time that something was done. I think it is appauling that disabled people are not able to access many trains due to lack of training and understanding. |
Guest |
#502014-05-19 16:43good luck. i recently had a broken ankle and could not get trains back to Amersham. Either had to wait longer for Chesham train or get family to drive to Chalfont & Latimer to get me. |
