My dogs and cats were terrified and had to sleep in my bedroom. 3 dogs including a great dane and 10 cats. Got no sleep.

Fireworks are bad,wrong and dangerous. Harms babies,the elderly and animals. Most people who use fireworks are under the influence and are then irresponsible. They allow children to handle fireworks with serious consequences....enough said..

I have a dog 2....It was really sad 2 c how my neighbours were inconsiderate. The fireworks were lit as early as 7pm and continued all the way till midnight! I had 2 let my dog in the house. And can I tell u that even on new year day....In broad day light...The mayhem continued...wtf??????

 If your pets signed a petition it would be an outrage. They have paws not fingers. Also, fireworks are beautiful. You're just scared, and you make your worthless excuse for a pet even more afraid when their owner or pack leader quivers nervously under the bed with them. You should be ashamed of yourself for creating such complexes with your pets. All fears are learned!

My dogs go balistic every year. I'm tired of sedating them and keeping them locked away because of the stupidity of people! Dogs rock!!!!!!

The minority of fireworks users infringe upon the rights of the rest of the population including frightened young children, the elderly, the majority of us who choose not to use fireworks and the terrified animals !!! Fireworks should be confined to specific places away from animals where those who want to partake can safely do so and it should be run by professionals who know what they are doing. Residential areas have loads of hazards eg. Gas bottles for gas braais and/or gas stoves.

guys...lets be honest here! you raised your pets to be like kids afraid of lightning and thunder...our dogs actually sit with us and the watch the sky and their tails wag like crazy which tells me anybody complaining about fireworks have nothing better to do but to complain...and look i agree with some of the things said here like a designated firework shooting ground...
