Save the Kyloe Cow

I can't understand how it's become an issue now??
Guess someone somewhere has nothing else to do??

Bureaucracy gone mad. My grandchildren come to Kyloe because of the cow !

The Council should deal with real issues rather than pick on easy targets!

Sounds like Edinburgh council are creating a fuss over this to try hide a bigger problem!! I have been to the restaurant many times and happen to like the cow where it is!

If Edinburgh council are happy to let morons build tin sheds in their from gardens then I see no harm in allowing this landmark to persist.

Eating beef is what made man great... it separates us from the monkeys. (it does however sound like there are still a few monkeys operating in the council).

Before Kyloe opened in 2006 there was a 'Cow Parade Edinburgh' which was funded and organised by the Edinburgh City Council and Lothian Scottish Enterprise. The Council were then happy to have large cows on display all over the town, so why now would they be bothered about the Kyloe cow. I am outraged, the Council should be using their resources for important issues, the cow is a landmark, is creative and should not be a topic for discussion let alone action. I recently visited Edinburgh and was appalled that such a beautiful city is still in such a mess, perhaps the councillors time should be used to resolve the real problems that the Capital is facing. This poor cow seems like a way for them to avoid any real work. Stop wasting time faffing about and get back to your proper job that residents pay you to do. Frankly I am surprised the cow has not been turned the other way around, perhaps the councillors would learn to appreciate the head end!

Why is the huge and hideous as mural allowed at the back of the St James Centre allowed but the cow is to be banned ????

Cannot believe the Council want to take this away - its a bit of fun for goodness sake and brightens up the area - just shows that we have a sense of humour as well as beautiful architecture in our city.

Some family members are returning to Edinburgh this year and I want to show my brother the cow and eat at this great restaurant. My brother used to be a cattleman in Montana and would love to see this. This is his first time to the UK.

With an eyesore like our parliament building they've got a cheek to say the cow takes away from the look of the area!

Edinburgh City Council can Bolt. What's the harm in something that's a bit different and stands out? Exactly NOTHING so give it peace

That cow is awesome and as long as it fits health and safety regulation it should stay!

Edinburgh Council should be more concerned about the actual area outsid the restaurant where pedestrians cross, it is a disgrace mistmatched paving and tarmac, filthy phone boxes,tell them to get their priorities right.

'Symbolic icon' is well over the top as a description. That aside, let's move on. This and the Pomegranate issue might help to convince Edinburgh Council to push for a change in the law - or at least to encourage our Planning officers to apply a more measured approach to enforcement.

THE COUNCIL SHOULD FOCUS ON FIXING THE HUNDREDS OF POTHOLES AND HUNDREDS OF LOOSE SLABS AROUND EDINBURGH CITY CENTRE

Why attack a business that has suffered many years of disruption to business because of the tram works!!! You cannot be serious... This adds to the overall look of the building.

I do not find the cow out of place where it is !
I would say the cow over from Bannermans bar in the
Cowgate is more offensive ! It's rear end sticks out
Over the street with its udders hanging out & bum showing !
That is situated in the historic part of Edinburgh and looks out of place !!!

I wish our Council would spend more time worrying about the atate of our streets etc. instead of worrying about 'harmless' objects that brighten up our environment in a light hearted way!!!

This is now a landmark and not doing any harm or spoiling the character of the area. The Council should spend more time dealing with real problems and issues.

This is crazy and a complete waste of time and effort. The level of investment put into the city by the Signature Group is a credit to Edinburgh and the owners should be recognised for this rather than dealing with petty local politics. Phil
