Help to save The Doodle Caboodle Cafe & Play in Tring.

To cut a long story short, a 'Change of Use' was recently submitted to Dacorum Borough Council. After being open for over 2 years without any issues, we were lead to believe that this was just a formality however, the process could now get complicated following a recommendation for refusal by Councillors at Tring Town Council. The exact words were: "The Council recommended refusal of this applicationon the grounds that there was inadequate parking facilities on site for a café. Whilst the Council welcomes the enterprise, the cafés operation has increased on street parking in Brook Street, aggravating a dangerous situation on a busy thoroughfare. Examples of parking close to junctions and at narrow points were quoted during consideration of this application."

We are a small family business trying to provide a much needed facility to the local community. We didn't open our little cafe to make money - we created jobs for local people, we pay our bills, we support local charities and we try to keep our costs down which doesn't leave much for us! Ultimately, we wanted to create a lovely place for parents, carers, friends and grandparents to meet with young children in a safe environment that was lacking when our children were young.

Please show your support by signing our petition before the end of August, which will be presented to Tring Town Council at their meeting next month.

We the undersigned, support the application to Dacorum Borough Council for Unit 21, The Silk Mill Business Park, Brook Street, Tring, Herts, HP23 5EF to continue to be used by The Doodle Caboodle Café & Play.
