Keep Palapeli as it is !

There have been rumours that Palapeli project, with has been offering assistance and direction to new immigrants in the Jyväskylä region is about to end soon.

As immigrants, who have been former students of Palapeli, we feel that such a development would be extremely detrimental to the integration of immigrants in the region. We believe that the existence of Palapeli has been a great support to the implementation of the Finish Integration Law, and we find difficult to believe thhat such a support can be provided if the services that Palapeli currently are offered in a different manner.

The project helped us not only lern the basics of the Finish language, but has alsoprovided us with the information abute the Finish society in a language that we understood, encouraged us to establish the goals that we would like to achieve in Finland, and offered us information abut how to go about achieving those goals. We believe that receiving all these services from single place had helpded our process of integration, and that ending the project or breaking the services up will not produce the result of enabling people integrare well into the society.

For these reasons, we the undersinged former students of Palapeli are appealing that you use your good offices to please ensure that the project continues as it currently is. Without this, we believe that the integration of new immigrants into our society would be made more difficult than it currently is.
