PETISIE TEEN MUNISIPALE AFBAKENINGSRAAD SE VOORSTEL

Die Afbakeningsraad het met ‘n slinkse plan gekom om ‘n gedeelte van die Billy Duvenhage Natuurreservaat (Wildkamp) wat onwettig bewoon word deur nagenoeg 300 mense, nou in te lyf by Ga-Segonyana Wyk 1 (Kuruman Dorp) sodat die mense wat onwettig daar woon nou in Wyk 1 kan stem. Raadslid Braam van der Westhuizen van die DA het male sonder tal hierdie onwettige besetting van die Wildkamp opgeneem met die Munisipale Bestuurder en Dorpsbeplanner, maar hulle het versuim om aksie te neem om hierdie onwettige besetting te stop. Hierdie besluit van die Afbakeningsraad is polities gedrewe en is geografies onregverdigbaar. Hierdie gedeelte van die Wildkamp was voor hierdie voorgestelde wysiging deel van Wyk 2 (Bankhara Bodulong) gewees, en die mense wat onwettig in die Wildkamp woon verkry toegang tot hul wonings via Bankhara wat aangrensend is aan die Wildkamp. Ons, as inwoners van Wyk 1 sê tot hiertoe en nie verder nie. Ons verwerp hierdie voorstel van die Afbakeningsraad om hierdie gedeelte van die Wildkamp nou by Wyk 1 in te lyf. Braam van der Westhuizen, Wyksraadslid van Wyk 1, Ga-Segonyana is hier om u by te staan om hierdie voorstel van die Afbakeningsraad teen te staan. PETITION AGAINST MUNICIPAL DEMARCATION BOARD's PROPOSAL The Demarcation Board has come up with a cunning plan to incorporate a portion of the Billy Duvenhage Nature Reserve (Wild Camp) which is illegally occupied by approximately 300 people, into Ga-Segonyana Ward 1 (Kuruman Town) so that the people who live there illegally can now vote in Ward 1. Councillor Braam van der Westhuizen of the DA has raised this illegal occupation of the Wild Camp with the Municipal Manager and Town Planner countless times, but they have failed to take action to stop this illegal occupation. This decision of the Demarcation Board is politically driven and is geographically unjustifiable. This portion of the Wild Camp was part of Ward 2 (Bankhara Bodulong) before this proposed amendment, and the people who live illegally in the Wild Camp access their homes via Bankhara, which is adjacent to the Wild Camp. We, as residents of Ward 1, say this far and no further. We reject this proposal from the Demarcation Board to incorporate this part of the Wild Camp into Ward 1.
