Petition to Stop Noise Disturbance from the Cielo Resto-Lounge-Bar on 1 Country Lane, Benoni

We, the residents of greater Benoni, Ward 28, Farrarmere, Lakefield and Ward 73, Western Extension, hereby Petition the City of Ekurhuleni the MMC of Health and Social Services to take immediate action regarding the loud music from the Cielo Resto-Lounge-Bar on 1 Country Lane, Benoni.

The City should:

1.      Investigate why the above business has been allowed to play its music loudly, contravening section 5 (1) and (2) of the City’s Public Health By-Laws, disturbing the peace of Farrarmere, Lakefield and Western Extension residents.

2.      Investigate why the business has not been fined despite numerous complaints, impose appropriate fines, and issue a directive for the business to be more active in communicating with the residents regarding events and to find measures to contain noise levels and re-direct the sound of loud music away from residential areas.
