Urgent Petition to Address the issues caused by the neglected mailboxes at the corner of Suikerbekkie Road and Houtkapper Drive, Rooihuiskraal Ext.20

Dear Councilors Frölich and De Kock,

We hope this message finds you in good health. We are writing to bring to your attention a pressing concern regarding the neglected mailboxes located at the corner of Suikerbekkie Road and Houtkapper Drive in Rooihuiskraal Ext. 20.

This neglected property has become a breeding ground for illicit activities, posing a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our community.

On a daily basis, commuters traveling to work are forced to navigate through a hazardous environment, making their daily commute a stressful and potentially dangerous experience. Moreover, the presence of individuals around the abandoned mailboxes raises concerns about the safety and security of all our community members, in particular ladies walking alone.

Efforts have been made by the local CPF and community members to address this issue. However, despite their best attempts, the problem persists. Incidents ranging from robbery and hijacking to drug-related activities have been reported in the vicinity, highlighting the urgency of this matter.

We, the undersigned, urge the relevant authorities to take immediate action to resolve this issue. We propose the following solutions:

1. Demolish the abandoned mailboxes and remove any remnants to eliminate the attraction for illicit activities.
2. Explore the possibility of selling the property to a responsible owner who can maintain it and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
3. Install a secure fence around the property to prevent vagrants from squatting and engaging in unlawful activities.

By implementing these measures, we believe we can reclaim our community's safety and restore a sense of security to the residents of Rooihuiskraal Ext.20 in the vicinity of the corner of Suikerbekkie Road and Houtkapper Drive.
