STOP LLOYDS BANK IN BROCKENHURST FROM CLOSING

The only remaining bank in Brockenhurst (Lloyds) will be shutting its doors on 6 April 2016.  The bank used to be open 5 days a week and then it was reduced to 3 days a week.  That if fine but for the people of Brockenhurst we can not do without NO bank.  The bank is used by a lot of the people in the village which is the size of approx 4000 people.  This bank is also used by people living nearby in the villages of Sway and Boldre.  To shut this bank means customers will have a 10 mile round trip to go to their local bank.  The letter sent by Christopher Martin (Bank Manager for Lloyds in both Brockenhurst and Lymington) advised that customers can make deposits and withdraw cash at any post office.  Not sure if there would be a charge for this.  As many local people are aware our local post office has been under threat of closure several times in the past and could still close in the very near future.  Our local Lloyds bank also has an ATM machine which is used not only by the locals but also by holiday makers, local businesses and students of Brockenhurst College and as such would like to get their cash anytime of the day and night and not wait for the post office to open.   Also to note local shops and pubs that offer cash back will be left with empty tills!!  Please sign this petition to prevent the closure of our only remaining bank which will have detrimental consequences for the local community (those who either reside or have their businesses here).
