Uncertainty of Promotion and Placements of NIFT Class of 2020

While all universities and colleges across the country including the likes of IIT, NID and Pearl have taken a final decision whether to promote Class of 2020 based on online exams or cancellation of exams altogether, we the graduating class of a reputed institution like NIFT are still hanging by a thread with no final guidelines with regards to how our final external jury will be carried out in a scenario where most of us have returned back to our hometowns and are not in the position to return back to our campuses given the current pandemic which is gradually reaching its peak. Not only this, as per our revised guidelines we are being expected to develop physical prototypes for at least one collection by travelling back to the state where our industry is where it's impossible to even think of using public transport unless an emergency and even if our company refuses to sponsor with a compulsion to self source the material, fund and self-production in a situation where most of us don't have access to resources, are suffering through a financial crisis and a lot of our parents have either lost their jobs or have had to accept salary cuts while our own mental health has gone down the drain with no clarity or assurance of a final conclusion with regards to our final project as well as placements in an economy barely managing to survive. The revised guidelines are unfeasible, impractical and don't account for any current extremities and uncertainties faced by not just us but the entire world. Neither are we responsible for the pandemic outbreak nor have we voluntary halted our internships to go through so much mental distress especially when we have slogged for the last 7 semesters to earn this degree and hence we demand a final concluding evaluation process keeping in mind its practical implementation in the real-life scenario.
