Done. People like this need harsher punishments and animals deserve protection.

For inspiration you can also view the letter sent by OIPA Italy to the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice. It is forbidden to use links here, but you can google oipa.org and viral-animal-cruelty-bulgaria and you will see the letter (I sometimes struggle with writing so this may be useful if you're like me)

Hi, I have written a letter also to the Minister of Justice in Bulgaria. Feel free to re-use it/adjust it and sign with your name. I could not find his email address, so I sent it to the Public Relations Office:

Minister of Justice of Bulgaria
Mr Georgi Georgiev
Sofia 1040, 1 Slavyanska str.
(by email only to the Public Relations Office: pr@justice.government.bg)

2 April 2025

Subject: Letter to the Minister of Justice on Animal Cruelty in Bulgaria

Dear Minister of Justice, Mr Georgiev,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of Ms Gabriela Sashova and Mr Krasimir Georgiev, both citizens of Bulgaria. As you are aware, these people were torturing and killing animals for profit and selling the footage using the “dark web.” Allegedly, they had been doing so for approximately three years before the case became recently public.

It is known to people who care about animal welfare that there are groups of individuals who torture and kill animals for profit using social platforms. However, it was thought that these people mostly operate in countries where there are non-existent laws to protect animals, with the exception of wild life (e.g. China).

It was very disturbing to learn that this is a problem which can also go undetected and uncared for in a country, which is part of the EU, for such a long period of time. I have been informed by my friends in Bulgaria that abuse of animals is not penalized enough in your country as to discourage people from committing acts of cruelty against animals.

I urge you to consider taking action against the above-mentioned individuals by making the responsible Bulgarian authorities not to let them get away with the crimes they had committed, and to press for the harshest possible penalty, which is permittable by law. The two people not only killed animals in exceptionally cruel ways, but they also caused a lot of damage and distress to the community of people of Pernik, Bulgaria, where they are residents, and to people who learnt about their crimes worldwide.

I also ask you to use the power that you have as the Minister of Justice to make sure that the crime is thoroughly investigated and any other individual, which could have been part of this criminal operation in your country, is brought to justice.

Yours sincerely,

(your name)
