Financial Support for Temporary Visa Holders in Australia - COVID 19

Due to the covid-19 pandemic a lot of temporary visa holders in Australia (visitor visas, student visas, 482 visa holders, working holiday visas), have been left unemployed and stranded in Australia. So far, The Australian Government has done nothing to support temporary visa holders in Australia. It has not provided a clear indication of what, if any financial support will be provided. Temporary visa holders need help and we request the Australian Government provide a clear answer to them.   We

New DJ for the Thirsty Whale

I'm sure everyone's getting a bit over wanting to spend their Saturdays going to the one club in napier just to awkwardly dance to timber by ke$ha on repeat. So while they've decided to close down for a few weeks hopefully they can spend some time looking for a new DJ or making a new playlist. LET'S MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER sign my petition if you think thirsty whale should fire the DJ and play some bangers.

The Removal of The GST Tax on Sanitary Products

Everyday women are being forced to pay tax sanitary products which are essential items that we need but is still being treated as a luxury good. In an article, social services secretary Pam Waugh stated that she has "...heard of them rolling up newspaper; putting it inside socks; we've heard them using old sanitary pads that they've washed or recycled; and we've also heard about them using leaves and newspapers just so that they can actually function well." Let people buy computers during lockdown

Many people that now find themselves in lockdown could work much more efficiently if they were given the opportunity to setup their homes properly. Most families are unprepared and because of this inefficient or even totally unproductive. The reality in most families is that they have only one home computer or in poorer families no computer. This computer is normally setup for games and not very useful for home office or online studies. Now one or two of the parents in a normal family are trying

Change the 'Parkin Drawing Prize' to the 'Parkin Art Prize'

The Parkin Drawing Prize organisers are refusing to quote "wrap rules around" this prestigious drawing competition, with up $25000 top prize money given to art that doesn't resemble drawing in the slightest each year.  They have chosen to use controversy and debate as excuses for the reason to award this money to what should be classified as Modern Art, and have admitted there is only one person who's opinion matters: (Comment by Parkin staff on their facebook page): "Art is subjective and we ha

Keep Firework Sales

Petition to keep firework sales in New Zealand For kiwis, Guy Fawkes has become an occasion signalling the coming of summer and a chance for family and friends to get together and take in the excitement of spectacular fireworks. The question is WHY take this away? It is sad to hear that so many people have signed a petition to ban firework sales but the majority must lie on the other side of the fence. Don't let the minority win.  If you feel that you would like to contest the petition against f
