We the undersigned parents of Ngunguru School seek the resignation of the current Ngunguru School Board of Trustees Chairperson, Terry Sage. We petition that he stand down immediately following the by-election currently estimated to occur in August of 2021.  While we the parents appreciate Mr. Sage’s many years of service, we are deeply unsettled and concerned by the recent resignation of half of the school’s board and all but one of the elected parent representatives. Matai Moana, Mt Crawford, Stop the Sale

Matai Moana (Mt Crawford) Kāti te hoko! Stop the sale!   The Taranaki Whānui Uri Working Group (UWG) are taking action against the forecasted selling of our maunga Matai Moana – otherwise known as Mt Crawford. The return of this maunga to manawhenua is a dream come true. Those Uri beneficiaries that want it fully retained in iwi ownership are extremely saddened to discover that some of our iwi leaders are all too willing to sell it all to the Wellington Company through developers Egmont Dixon.

We do NOT want the Nelson Council to proceed with the planned new library. We do NOT want or need a new library. And we do NOT want the rates rise associated with this planned new library, or any large rates rises. We demand that the Council focus spending on the current needs in Nelson. Re-establishing the Waikiwi BMX Track

Myers Reserve in North Invercargill Waikiwi features some BMX ramps and the skeletons of an old BMX Track.  The track was used and enjoyed by kids around the area in the 80's and 90's. Unfortunately over time it has grown grass and the old ramps need some repairs. The Invercargill City Council have not had a lot of Public interest or community support for getting this BMX track back up and running.  I know it was loved by many and could be enjoyed my many kids and families in the future if it wa

Open letter to UFG and all NZ flower growers

Open letter to UFG and all NZ Flower Growers,   We are a very concerned group of florist business owners and or operators. There is a major crises looming that doesn’t seem to be on your radar. A lot of us are fighting to survive as the extreme flower prices we are currently paying are not sustainable. Since April last year we have seen substantial increases, some of them understandable.  But now with Mother’s Day over we expected a normalisation of prices- as every year before. Some of us will

Mandeville Path between McHughes and No. 10 Roads

In our community, we have the gorgeous Mandeville Village and well-supported Swannanoa School. Unfortunately, bike or walking access to both these sites is not particularly safe or enticing due to the often unkempt and difficult-to-bike-on grass verge between McHughes Road and No 10 Road - particularly for children/ families in the wet winter months. I have secured an opportunity to speak to Council next Thursday to request consideration of this project in their upcoming Draft Long Term Plan 202
