Save Renee's Box.

Hi I'm Renee I'm a mother of a 6 month old boy and a 12 year old dog. Renee's box is my business and vocation. Without warning the Sunday before last I was sent a message on Facebook saying half my space was being taken from me. (this being my outside area, shown in this picture). Which makes it impossible for me to open my shop. I was given no reason for this and I know the businesses around me are supportive of me as I have spoken to the majority about this already and they are behind me. This

A vote of no confidence in the Mayor and Several councillors of the DCC

I have started this petition which will be presented to the Minister for Local Government. The Mayor and several councillors have pushed through policies  with little or no public consultation, the latest being the change of speed to 10kmh in the CBD .This was done by the Mayor using the Covid 19 argument it will be better for the public and reduce the risk of infection . This happened within a matter of days and the signs were already printed before the vote at council was done. This was also do

Support a vote of no confidence in the petition for a vote of no confidence in Dunedin Councillors and the Mayor

Unfortunately many people do not understand the process of democracy and despite the recent democratically conducted local council elections, because they did not get the mayor they wanted they somehow believe the democratic process was not followed. Some of these people are unable to deal with the fact that there are other people out there that have a different opinion to them, so everytime a decision does not go in their favour they spend a lot of time and effort on social media moaning about

CAP SOUTH WAIRARAPA DISTRICT RATE RISES TO 2% FOR THREE YEARS

South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC) consultation documents create an impression that the SWDC is raising rates by only 2%. That is not the case. The Council plans to increase its annual operating expenditure by 18% for next year – see page 24 of Council’s supporting information for consultation. There is smoke and mirrors around the figures but it is clear that rates will rise over the longer term from Council’s proposals this year by at least 13%, and likely more especially if the Greytown

Re-open the sale yards

COVID-19 shut down our sale yards but now we desperately need to have these re-opened, particularly in areas like Hawke's Bay where severe drought is having a major impact. Hawke's Bay farmers are currently facing what may be the worst drought in history, and the situation is compounded by the loss of the sale yards - an avenue of selling that the majority of farmers know well and have ultilised in the past. Other regions are also under significant feed pressure and would benefit from sale yards

Partial refund to international and domestic students studying in Aotearoa

International students have been promised an unforgettable experience and limitless opportunities in New Zealand Universities. We have been paying 3-4 times more than domestic students to get the full New Zealand educational experience. Due to COVID-19 Universities have decided to put the rest of the term online. Which lacks on experience and the wide range of opportunities that we have been promised e.g. Lab practicses, Internships, many more.. A partial refund of the thousands of NZD we have p

Put a hold on the roll out 5G

I am expressing my concerns about the detrimental affect non ionizing radiation could have on our children who are our potential future leader of our country New Zealand. There has been no sufficient scientific study on the 5G platform to indicate that 5G is safe for our children. I believe parliament has not taken the appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of our children and the NZ public. I simply ask that parliament holds on the roll out of 5G until sufficient scientific eviden

Call for more free minutes for NZers during the COVID-19 lock down

I think it’s time for the Telco corporations operating in NZ (Vodafone, Spark, Skinny, etc) to put their profits where their customers are and provide more free minutes to NZers during the COVID-19 lock down. Facetime is free, but many of our grandparents, uncles, aunties and great-grandparents don’t have smart phones to utilise this technology.  For the mental health of the country, I emplore these organisations to consider providing more free minutes to landlines/mobiles so we can keep in touc

New DJ for the Thirsty Whale

I'm sure everyone's getting a bit over wanting to spend their Saturdays going to the one club in napier just to awkwardly dance to timber by ke$ha on repeat. So while they've decided to close down for a few weeks hopefully they can spend some time looking for a new DJ or making a new playlist. LET'S MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER sign my petition if you think thirsty whale should fire the DJ and play some bangers.

Close Rangitoto College for a while for the safety of the students

Rangitoto has more then 3,000 kids, with lots of them coughing and some who are sick can't stay home because of internals and tests that are going on.Since it's the largest school in NZ there are many interactions that happen daily.Us as students who attend Rangitoto College want an extended holiday and for school to finish later than it would've.So that would mean how ever many weeks we have off now we do again in the December/January holidays.
