Waikato Cherry Tree Festival Sep 2020
Target Waikato District Council Preamble We have trespassers to thank for the Waikato Cherry Tree Festival. The desperateness of people to get amongst the cherry blossoms made us want to share this beautiful place with the local community and people. Anne and I (Paul) thought it would be great idea to arrange various multicultural performances and get the community together to celebrate spring. The first year was 2017 and we had a great response from the community. We sold our allowed maximum of

Save our Centre! Government funding essential to keep classes running for disabled children in Taranaki.
Conductive Education Taranaki has provided highly valued specialised sessions for kids with disablilites since 2017 without Ministry of Health funding. Conductive Education has been part of New Zealand for over 25 years, with existing providers receiving Government funding. Centres in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington and Christchurch all hold Child Development Services contracts to support their service delivery. We have to raise it all ourselves through exposure, events and activities! Enough i

Retain STV (Single Transferrable Vote) as the voting system for Dunedin City Council Mayoral and Councillor Elections
First up...If you're going to share this on Facebook PLEASE sign it too - Thanks! A vocal minority, unhappy that their choice for mayor did not get elected, wish to push through a change back to an FPP (first past the post) system, in a thinly veiled attempt to get Dunedin's most divisive councillor in modern times elected as a minority mayor! A petition has been created by their supporters and it felt appropriate to 'balance the scales' Why FPP is undemocratic, and STV is a much better system:

Say NO to Council plans for Rubbish and Recycling
SAY NO TO COUNCIL PLANS for Rubbish and Recycling in Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty. Tauranga and Western Bay Councils are currently carrying out a review of their Waste Minimisation Plan. It appears that they think too much organic material and glass is currently going to landfill. In order to remedy this they are considering a number of proposals ranging from leaving things as they are (all private sector and use-pays) to changing to a rates-funded rubbish and recycling collection.
