#22016-02-05 01:59I spent many a year collecting chestnuts under those trees would be a shame to see them go. |

#32016-02-05 02:17Absolutely appalling... Just when we need every single tree to keep... Disgusting. Sure they are other options... |

#42016-02-05 02:25As a qualified arborist i know for a fact these trees can be maintained to clear the lines so there is no need to fell them. i also know for a fact delta and the land owners are going ahead with the fell as they are sick of the costs involved with maintanance but wont entertain any idea of moving the lines! Pure bloody lazyness! Its no secret delta hates trees |

#52016-02-05 02:34Power companies know that power will go underground in the next few decades anyway. Make an exception. These mature trees are an important piece of local history for all to enjoy. |

#62016-02-05 02:46These trees are beautiful and make an impressive entrance to the Queenstown area. Any replacements will take years to grow. |
Guest |
#72016-02-05 02:54Because they make a beautiful entrance way into the wakatipu and to cut them down because of the power lines is sacrilege |

#92016-02-05 03:22It is a crazy idea to cut down all those beautiful trees and put ugly power lines up!!! |

#112016-02-05 04:08I live in Lakes Hayes Estate and see the trees daily I love the trees don't cut them down |

#122016-02-05 04:27i went along ladies mile this morning and these trees need to stay , do people not like trees anymore that they need to keep chopping them down. Our grandkids miss out on these lining this piece of road. |

#132016-02-05 04:28I have a very strong connection with Queenstown and over 45 years have enjoyed coming up the straight to Queenstown |

#142016-02-05 04:33Trees are an essential part of our environment and take a long time to grow in the harsh local climate. We have enough ugliness in the approach to Queenstown with all the commercial developments, we don't need to lose trees. |
Guest |
#152016-02-05 04:38We have property in Queenstown and love this stretch of road with the trees which are often the only greenry in the area |
Guest |
#162016-02-05 04:43because trees are beautifull and make us feel good...and they even produce food!! |
Guest |
#172016-02-05 05:03It's a travesty to cut down these beautiful trees, they've taken years to grow and all that is required to keep them is a little bit of maintenance. |

#192016-02-05 05:47I am an LHE resident. I love those trees, they look stunning. I want them to be saved. |
Guest |
#202016-02-05 05:47Few reasons, I live at LHE so on my doorstep, some trees are over 50 years old so we should be preserving them not chopping them down, aesthetically will affect the approach into Queenstown. |

#212016-02-05 05:50Because I feel very strongly (being a local of 33 years) about retaining this avenue of trees. What a welcome to Queenstown to both visitors and locals alike. Also a tribute to those who planted the trees in those early years - like prior to the late Bill walker |
Guest |
#222016-02-05 06:47Some of those trees were planted BEFORE the power lines were put through there. The trees should not pay for a bad historic decision |
Guest |
#232016-02-05 06:53I visit that area in N.Z. regularly, the trees in question are beautiful. We need our trees for oxygen. Please leave them alone. |
Guest |
#242016-02-05 07:09Our council need the vision to ensure trees like these are safe guarded to make the entrance to Queenstown beautiful |
Guest |
#252016-02-05 07:13The trees are wonderful. I understand that it's cheaper and easier to get rid of them than to upkeep them but I'd say they were there first? |

Please sign the petition to halt rates increases by the New Plymouth Dustrict Council which are forcing people out of their homes and off of their properties. The NPDC is incompetent.
