#2762016-02-10 07:09We Need to retain all aspects of older queenstown, the character of a country town shouldn't be turned into a boring city suburb. Electricity should be underground everywhere by now |

#2772016-02-10 08:00These trees are an amazing asset visually and soften the development in this very busy area. |

#2782016-02-10 08:41Save the trees... They are beautiful & make for a scenic drive to Arrowtown |

#2802016-02-10 21:20It is ridiculous way for Delta to maintain their power lines by simply removing an obstacle so destructively. These trees are 50 years old and over!!! Why don't Delta consider under ground lines - be certainly more atrractive!!! |

#2812016-02-10 21:22Trees will help get rid of those car fumes and they are beautiful trees!! |

#2822016-02-10 21:30It is most important that these trees be saved as they are a wonderful entance to Queenstown. The power lines should go underground as they are in the rest of the advanced countries. |

#2832016-02-10 23:13It is vandalism by Delta and the Council to simply destroy the trees. Why not place the power lines underground - it is not a great distance and would save maintenance in the future. |

#2842016-02-11 05:00I have been in the country for 5 months working and traveling. Currently in Queenstown and heard about the petition from a young girl named Lauren who was very enthusiastic about the petition. I would like to support her cause and to save these beautiful trees. Respectfully, Aaron A. Gormley |

#2852016-02-11 06:02Why do they have to chop down trees ..they are the lungs of the Earth ...a lot if farms have cleared so many trees..no shelter from the wind or shade for animals ...stop destroying what we need for our future generations!! |

#2862016-02-11 11:04The council have already allowed developers to ruin the previous `entrance' to Queenstown, with the 5 Mile hole eyesore and now the big city mega stores and shopping centre. The Ladies Mile trees have taken over the mantle in softening the approach to Queenstown. Delta needs to leave the trees alone, and bury the overhead power lines - at their expense. |

#2872016-02-11 20:22I lived in Queenstown back in the 70'South. Put lines on the other side of the road. Frosty. |

#2882016-02-12 00:02The trees have been there for a very long time. Surely a better solution would be to put the cables underground |

#2892016-02-12 09:00I lived in QT for a couple of years (a while ago now) and want to protect a terrific part of the town. |

#2902016-02-14 00:46I lived in Queenstown for 20 years. Driving out to Lake Hayes, Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley, Wanaka and further afield, I so enjoyed and appreciated the avenue-nature of this tree-lined straight stretch of road. The trees certainly enhanced the environment and experience and made the trip such a visual pleasure. Rachel Dahl |

#2922016-02-17 11:12I have a long history with the Wakatipu basin & those trees have been around for a long time. Don't want to see them cut down in 2 minutes. |

#2932016-02-18 21:45I'm a former Queenstowner and regular visitor to the area. I think it would be a real shame to cut these trees down. |

#2942016-02-18 22:52My mother and brother live in Queenstown and my sister is an ex-resident. I have spent many holidays and weekends in the area and it seems a shame that beautiful trees like these should be cut down instead of looking at other options. |

#2952016-03-04 08:57Because these trees are outstandingly beautiful to all people in this district and it's an act of detruction to cut them down. |

#2962016-03-23 06:13There is a natural beauty in trees. Man-made stuff can be beautiful, but there is something very special about Nature's beauty, self-sustaining and self-repairing. It costs nothing to maintain because of these two qualities and there are simply too many other benefits to list here. |

#2972016-04-06 02:20I believe that all trees that are mature, healthy, and contribute to the beauty of a region, demand preservation. |

#2982016-04-06 04:58I used to live in Queenstown and I remember the tress well. I cannot think of any reason why they should be removed |

#2992016-04-06 05:48I've driven along this road since I was a kid, it wouldn't be right to destroy it's charm just for some power lines. Why do engineers think that their job is to get rid of natural features? Can't they see alternatives? |

#3002016-04-12 10:23Keep them and bury the lines. This is ridiculous! Those trees are stunning and should be left to continue giving us all pleasure. |
