This is bullshit, obviously the dog is going to protect its house and loved ones, if someone was hanging around my house at early hours of the morning and decided to stick their hand over the fence my dogs would do the bloody same! The dick head deserved to get bit for stirring the dog up. HUMANS ARE IDIOTS and any dog owner would agree with me!!

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-12)

#1802

I'm signing because the intruder was in the wrong not the dog..... more info is needed before this happens.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1804

Because this is bullshit he did his job protecting the family

(Rodds bay, 2017-09-12)

#1806

Thai is awful. Shame on the council

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1809

This poor dog was protecting his family and his home ! He does not deserve to be put to sleep! The intruder should not have been there in the first place ! Let him live and continue to protect and love his family !

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1810

Dogs are there to protect their owners and their property, if an INTRUDER comes into the property, the dog is only doing what it is supposed to do. ABSOLUTELY criminal to seize this dog, or any dog for this ridiculous charge.....Disgusting Mackay!!!

(Melbourne, 2017-09-12)

#1812

Your dog should have the right to protect the home for an intruder

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1815

Winston was on his property protecting his family as dogs do ..Intruders deserve what they get when they enter a property that they don't belong on/in.

(sydney, 2017-09-12)

#1816

Our beautiful cattle dog demi same think guy was poking stick threw our fence hurting her.she put head threw bit him. We lost our demi and $3000 fine. Its not right!

(Townsville , 2017-09-12)

#1817

I'm signing because Winston deserves to live.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1819

im signing this petition because the Australian law is so backwards.. shouldnt have to put down dogs because the dick invaded its domain...

(Bushland beach, Townsville , 2017-09-12)

#1822

A person should be able to defend their home and property and this dog was doing that.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-12)

#1825

Not the dogs fault!!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1828

How dare you want to harm this beautiful creature for protecting his family and home! If that was a person, you would shake their hand. SHAME ON YOU!

(Bethania , 2017-09-12)

#1829

Because to find this little boy

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1830

against 'all' abuse & cruelty, show respect, 'free' him, he belongs at home with his family

(Brantford, 2017-09-12)

#1832

The council needs to wake the hell up! Trespasser got what they deserve and hope they got locked up. It's clear it's a family pet not a killer otherwise there wouldn't be much of an intruder left... the intruder probably provoked Winston (rapid movements, shoving, kicking, hitting, or worse... which would have scared or even hurt him) he was defending himself, his territory and his family! Hope Winston is saved, he looks very friendly ❤️.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1836

This dog was only protecting his family from someone who did not mean well

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1840

I am signing because I too have dogs (German Shepherds) and I would hate to think that if one of my dogs was protecting myself and my family from an intruder in our home that he would get put down as a result. What kind of message is this sending to the criminals of Mackay

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1841

this dog has done nothing wrong...the criminal should be put down if anyone. it might stop these bloody crimes happening so much if the dogs are allowed to do there job. All the dog was doing was protecting HIS family and now they want to give him death, how bloody stupid.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1843

I'm signing because Winston was just trying to protect his family. This shouldn't be happening. He shouldn't be punished for trying to look out for his family. Good luck buddy xx

(Gracemere, 2017-09-12)

#1845

Who's side is the council on? Really why would they support a law breaking criminal. We (i mean all the good honest people of this town) need to make a stand!!!

(North mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1848

It is u fair to kill and animal based on someone saying so evidence is critical in this case as once the dog Ian killed there is no coming back from it. Free Winston!!

(Shailer park, 2017-09-12)

#1849

Why destroy the dog...Crazy

(hervey Bay, 2017-09-12)

#1850

Winston was only doing his job! Protecting his family within his own property!! Free Winston!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1856

Shame on you MRC! Punishing this dog for doing his job, he was protecting his home & family from an intruder trespassing in his yard yet he is in the wrong. He needs to be released & rewarded a big bone for being a good boy!

(Mirani, 2017-09-12)

#1858

This is outrageous you can't kill him for doing his job !!!!!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1860

This dog has done nothing wrong. It's protected bits family from an intruder and should be rewarded not executed!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1862

I think it's wrong how they can allow this to happen ... this dog was protecting his family and home ...he should be a hero not sentenced to death...

(Innisfail Qld 4860 , 2017-09-12)

#1864

I believe winston should be put down for protecting his family

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1865

This is just not fair. The dog was doing what it has been trained to do - protect the house. Why bring more pain to this family. Poor dog. Cruel rigid compassion-less Council.

(Lismore, 2017-09-12)

#1866

It's about time that laws protected the innocent instead of the perpetrators. The intruder who made the complaint should be charged with trespassing, the dog was just doing its job. They desrved to be bitten.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1870

What's gives someone the right to break into your home and then because poor Einstein was protecting his home his joe punished. Shame on you mrc.

(Melbourne, 2017-09-12)

#1872

Feel very strongly about this. Why has intruder got all the rights? He was the one trespassing on property in middle of night. Dog has done nothin wrong, it's proven he's not an aggressive dog. Dog needs a voice to stand up for him.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1874

Councils need proof that Winston is dangerous to me he was just doing his job . The person shouldn't have been on that property with out being invited. Hopefully Winston won't have to pay the price for protecting his property. And to the council stop protecting the criminals, get your proof before you condemn Winston.

(Townsville , 2017-09-12)

#1881

The dog was doing his job

(Coombabah, 2017-09-12)

#1882

This person entrered someone's house obviously intend to commit crime and the dog simply defended his territory and family. This is totally different story to dogs bite public members in the public spaces. If the parson didn't trespass he wouldn't be bitten. This council has no common sense.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-12)

#1884

I am absolutely fed up of hearing about dogs being seized and murdered by councils. Winston was protecting his family from an intruder in the middle of the night.

(Perth, 2017-09-12)

#1888

im siging because he is a guard dog n was only doin his job. Why should winston be put down for that. Willing to break into someones house u are willing to suffer the consiquences

(mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1890

This is so wrong the dog was doing his job why protect the scumbag that was committing the offense.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-12)

#1891

Winston should not be put down!

(mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1892

The dog was just protecting the family as any dog would do the dog shouldn't be put down over something like this if it hasn't done it before.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-12)

#1897

The dog was protecting his property and family

(Emerald, 2017-09-12)

#1898

Im signing because winstons owner has done the right thing and had the dog contained to his property and someone decided to trespass which led to the incident. Its so sad that they want to murder winston (a much loved family pet) and punish the owners with fines because of this.

(Cairns, 2017-09-12)

#1899

I know this dog well and Winston is a very passive and happy dog who never would bite a human unless provoked. Very unfair for this dog to be treated like it's some vicious beast.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1900

This dog deserves a medal it was protecting its family.

(Yeppoon , 2017-09-12)

#1901

Not having to provide proof is irresponsible, fosters the misuse of power, and ethically wrong on several levels. It's not meant to be a money grab by the council - and it's certainly not okay for intruders to be given any right of way.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1902

The animal was just protecting his home and his family.

(Proserpine, 2017-09-12)

#1903

Because if this dog was protecting the owners property from intruders, he was doing his job, there are too many break ins and we all need to get a dog. Why does law protect the intruder????

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1906

He was just protecting the family and my boy would do the same break in get what you deserve..

(Adelaide, 2017-09-12)

#1907

Because Winston was doing his job protecting his family. Since when does or should the world care about what criminals who were clearly in the wrong think. The person who made the complaint should be arrested not the owner fined and winston put down. This is why the world is in major trouble.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1909

He was defending his home from an intruder!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1912

The dog was just protecting his property and masters.

(Yeppoon, 2017-09-12)

#1913

The poor furbaby was going about its own business when an intruder decided to try their luck and now a family and a furbaby are going through hell because of a thief! They don't deserve this and the dog doesn't deserve to be euthanised.

(Rasmussen, 2017-09-12)

#1915

Hope Winston is home soon

(Sydney, 2017-09-12)

#1916

The intruder was at fault and the dog was protecting its territory. Intruder should be put down.

(Rochester, 2017-09-12)

#1918

This is totally ridiculous, the dog is protecting his family and property... how about something is done about the scumbag that actually committed the crime.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1921

If the guy was in his yard then its his tough luck deal with the bite mate

(Middleton, 2017-09-12)

#1922

I had this happen to me its disgusting

(Taroom, 2017-09-12)

#1923

This dog was only doing what you want your dog to do.... Protect his family..

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1924

Trespassing is also a crime he was guarding his property

(Gymea, 2017-09-12)

#1926

We teach our dogs to protect our house and family. The intruder has done wrong, NOT WINSTON. Don't punish the family further.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1929

If you don't want to get bitten while being illegally on someone's property by their dog, just doing it's job, stay out of their house. Council should be ashamed of itself for taking this stance and wanting to put down this dog. Shame on you

(Kelso, 2017-09-12)

#1931

The council law is shit.

(Moranbah, 2017-09-12)

#1937

The dog was protecting the family he should not be killed

(Cairns, 2017-09-12)

#1941

This is so wrong on so many levels..if he entred the yard without peoples knowledge then he deserves to be bitten

(Killarney, 2017-09-12)

#1942

No dog should be put down for protecting its property from intruders.

(Townsville , 2017-09-12)

#1945

This is so wrong on every level
Seriously if my dog bit a intruder which it would!!!
I would be doing the same and fighting for my beloved family member !!!!!
I get bailed up all the time by dogs in my job,
they are not dangerous dogs by any means
The dogs are just protecting their territory and family
For most dogs this is thier job and soul purpose in life and they live to protect their beloved family
Release this dog please and do the right thing
Mackay council we will applude your decision to retract

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1946

This is wrong, you don't go into anyone's back yard ! This dog was doing his job protecting his yard, I think a suitable outcome would be have a warning label on fence if not already, let the dog go! To his family as he is a beloved family dog. Keep the fine. In my generation we we're talk not to just walk into someone's property or touch someone's dog through then fence. This person was utterly stupid intruding into this yard! I know people who had been apart of animal rescue who save dogs from the pound from people accusing dogs of this.

(Hervey bay, 2017-09-12)

#1948

How can you punish a dog for protecting his family?
This person shouldnt have been in this family's yard.
Hows about following that up?
Don't you dare put the dog down when it was doing exactly what it should be..

(Cairns , 2017-09-12)

#1949

Its a bullshit complaint

(Clermont, 2017-09-12)

#1950

The dog was doing his job .. protecting his family from intruders ... the law does nothing so we has a public, home owners need to help ourselves defend what is ours .. not have lowlife intrude on your property to do god knows what ...SAVE WINSTON

(Hughenden , 2017-09-12)

#1951

I'm signing because I've had this happen to me and it was later proven my dog was falsely accused by a vindictive neighbour

(Innot Hot Springs, 2017-09-12)

#1952

Because it's not right, if the intruder was not in the private space of the dog he would not of been bitten by this dog. I'm sure the dog only used reasonable force to protect his family. What happened to the right of the family being able to live peacefully. To many criminals causing pain on others and they get off free and the victim has to suffer.

(Townsville , 2017-09-12)

#1953

It is unfair!!! He was trespassing. The dog was protecting his family.

(Oakurst, 2017-09-12)

#1954

Animals need a voice for them as they can't speak for themselves

(Dysart , 2017-09-12)

#1955

Morals

(Brisbane , 2017-09-12)

#1958

No dog should have to die for doing their job. We have dogs to keep ourselves and our property safe from people doing the wrong thing.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1959

This is a dog who was protecting his family from an intruder .... this is a family known to my daughter

(Kensington Grove, 2017-09-12)

#1960

I have a dog, she is beautiful and loved so much. If something like this happened id be so devastated, he was only doing his job of protecting his home and family. If you go into a yard that is properly fences and you get bitten by the property's dog when the owner is not aware you are entering or has allowed it then its your own fault. Like anything stupid, if you get hirt from deciding to do something stupid then thats your choice and fault. Dont blame a dog for doing the right thing protecting its home.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#1961

A dog that is defending his family should not be put down , the person coming into someone else's yard without permission should be the one that's shot !

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1964

The dog was protecting his home and family.

(Darwin, 2017-09-12)

#1966

This is completely outrageous.

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1967

This is a disgrace!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1970

I don't believe any animal should be put down for protecting it's home, within the property boundaries as I believe Winston was and I also see no reason for the owner to be fined.

(Marian, 2017-09-12)

#1976

That's bullshit that a dog should be put down for protecting its yard and family.. what pieces of shit the council are.

(Blackwater, 2017-09-12)

#1978

This dog was protecting his family against intruders . It is ridiculous to kill this dog !!! Has the world gone mad ???

(Sunshine coast, 2017-09-12)

#1982

Owners have a right to protect their property with a family pet. This is absolutely disgusting. How would you feel if it was your dog?

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1983

Dog should be given a second chance. Bites to intruders in middle of night should not be counted in tally to determine whether the dog is dangerous. If the rule is "one bite" and the dog is declared dangerous, then this is unacceptable. Fact is dogs, cats, parrots and many other animals kept as pets bite, especially when provoked. Many people have dogs to deter intruders and protect their property. This dog appears to have faithfully done that and has now been given a death sentence. Laws have been simplified solely for convenience, to save money and send the message to the presumed transgressor that they are based in sound administration. This has the effect of weakening the law as it becomes inflexible and bound in bureaucracy. This case should go to mediation or be looked at by someone with discretion who is not a Council bully.

(Townsville, 2017-09-12)

#1984

I'm signing because this is absolutely unfair.

(Morayfield, 2017-09-12)

#1985

Killing a dog for biting an unknown intruder in the middle of the night. This is Council stupidity of the highest level..

(Manly, 2017-09-12)

#1986

I'm signing because this whole thing is wrong and the dog was only protecting its yard!

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1988

This stupid this dog needs to come home to his family

(mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1989

THE DOG WAS DOING ITS JOB

(RIVERSTONE NSW, 2017-09-12)

#1990

If someone came on my yard in middle of nite i would hope my dogs do the same thing its their job to protect me and my house person shouldnt be in my yard to start with. no wonder there so much crime in this town dogs are not even allowed to protect their home if it was me that hurt the person would i get put down aswell whats the difference

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#1991

The dog was was stopping an intruder what a good dog

(Bald Hills, 2017-09-12)

#2000

dogs are natural protectors, just doing his job, doesn't deserve to die for it.

(Seville Grove, W, 2017-09-12)
