Dog was doing nothing wrong and this is so wrong thats we have our furbabies to look after as as much as we look after them

(Mackay, 2017-09-16)

#8806

Winston should be back at home with his family and not impounded.

(Stroud Road , 2017-09-16)

#8807

The dog was only protecting it's family, If the father had bitten the intruder would he be put down ?

(Lake MacDonald, 2017-09-16)

#8808

Go on to somebody's property at night. Of course the dog may bite. It is guarding it's owners property. If this has happened the victim should have to show the bite and that they were treated. Looking at this pic Winston looks like a friendly dog playing with the kids.

(Birkdale, 2017-09-16)

#8809

I'm signing because Winston was doing his job - in a fenced yard. - If someone was in my yard in middle of the night they're up to NO GOOD, & I'd be pretty worried, - just as Winston obviously was.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-16)

#8810

The dog was protecting his family times are wrong

(Wycheproof , 2017-09-16)

#8811

From what I read, the dog was simply doing its job and following its natural instinct to protect it's family. If an intruder was on the property, then the dog did the right thing by being territorial and protecting the family and property.
The authorities should absolutely have to provide solid evidence for reasoning behind seizing and containing this family's pet (and anybody else's). The animal should be rewarded for it's actions of protection on it's own property in these circumstances.

(Kirwan, 2017-09-16)

#8812

The intruder should b at the pound for the threat he put this family under by being on their property. The council have the wrong guy!!

(Perth, 2017-09-16)

#8813

Dog was doin his job

(Narellan, 2017-09-16)

#8816

He was doing his job , would you kill a father for protecting a child

(Poona , 2017-09-16)

#8817

This is ridiculous. Winston was protecting his home & family from an intruder!! Winston was doing his job. For*****s sake, when will people grow a brain!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-16)

#8818

this dog was protecting its home. Humans dont go to jail for defending against intruders in their own home, why would a dog be put down? Crazy councils

(sydney, 2017-09-16)

#8819

The dog was protecting his family ftom a intruder who was a danger to this dogs family. He didn't wrong. If intruder wasn't doing the wrong thing he wouldn't have been bitten. Put the intruder to sleep!

(Booral, 2017-09-16)

#8820

It's just wrong that dog didn't just randomly bite
It bit a burglar
How would you feel if that lowlife harmed one of the children living there would he be euthanised? No
He'd most likely get a warning

(Wallarah , 2017-09-16)

#8822

This dog has done what we all hope are dogs do protect our house and our family

(Palm beach, 2017-09-16)

#8823

The dog deserves a reward not a sentence

(Keilordowns , 2017-09-16)

#8826

Anyone entering private property unauthorised risks the consequences. Many family pet dogs would react in the same way as Winston. It does not mean they are dangerous.

(THE PONDS, 2017-09-16)

#8827

This is wrong. The dog was just oritecting the property and his owners..

(Coffs Harbour, 2017-09-16)

#8830

Not fair to kill a family member.

(Sarina Beach , 2017-09-16)

#8833

This dog was doing what came naturally, he was protecting his family and he should not die for doing so..

(Kincumber, 2017-09-16)

#8834

No friend should be treated like this

(Brisbane , 2017-09-16)

#8837

WE all have a dog to protect and guard our house and family. If someone entered my property without permission and was there with criminal intentions then they deserve what they get and the dog was only protecting the family. The intruder was trespassing, they were in the wrong not the dog.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-16)

#8840

I'm signing because this is an overlooked problem in our society; criminals know they'll be able to sue and get away with crime if they are injured on 'the job'. If someone came into my house unlawfully, I would bite them too.

(Newcastle, 2017-09-16)

#8841

This is about a family member protecting their family we need to be able to protect ourselves without the fear of getting in trouble with the law

(Townsville , 2017-09-16)

(Port Macquarie, 2017-09-17)

#8870

It is not fair on the dog, he was just protecting his family.

(Coolac, 2017-09-17)

#8871

He was protecting his family and shouldn't be put down as a result, he's clearly a loved family member and those poor kids will be heartbroken

(Torquay , 2017-09-17)

#8872

I am signing this because this dog is a family pet and if it was dangerous i am sure they eouldnt let it near their or other children. Go and find the person who was in their yard and have a look to see if he was really bitten.
My heart goes out to this family

(Koumala, 2017-09-17)

#8873

the law is an ass, murdering this dog proves it , again the invader of your property is rewarded ,

(Redland City, 2017-09-17)

#8874

This dog was doing his job - in the middle of the night no less - when a strange intruder invaded his family's property . Great job Winston - that's why we have dogs ( apart from their loyal and undying love ) to protect us !!! Please - let sanity prevail and send him home to his family .

(Willow Vale, 2017-09-17)

(Melbourne, 2017-09-17)

This poor baby was protecting his family from an intruder. How about locking up the intruder instead of a much loved family pet

(East Maitland, 2017-09-17)

(Maryborough, 2017-09-17)

#8894

This is just wrong. Someone intruders on your property to steal, the dog protects his environment and you want to put him down. This is totally the wrong way around. Put the intruder down!!!!

(Emu park, 2017-09-17)

#8896

This wonderful dog was defending his family.

(Sydney, 2017-09-17)

(Perth , 2017-09-17)

#8902

He doesn't deserve to be put down its wrong

(Gcoast , 2017-09-17)

#8903

Save Winston. He was protecting his home and family.

(Perth, 2017-09-17)

#8904

The dog was protecting his home. It was not a random act on the street, he deserves a medal.

(Buddina 4575, 2017-09-17)

#8910

Winston was doing his job. Simple as that. If that person didn't want to get bitten, he / she should have stayed out of that yard and shouldn't have tried to commit a crime.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-17)

#8911

This dog is a hero, and does not deserve to die.

(Neath, 2017-09-17)

#8914

No one should have their family pet put down for defending their property from intruders!!

(Victoria point, 2017-09-17)

#8919

This is just ridiculous, this dog is protecting its family from the only 'danger'

(Caloundra , 2017-09-17)

#8920

I don't agree that this dog should have been seized. Simple solution, don't enter a property illegally or without notifying the home owner. If a dog is on the premises they are usually going to protect the owner's property. What right does an intruder have against a dog doing the right thing by the owner? This is a family dog, a pet, a member of the family group. Council has to put all issues on the table and not rely on the word of a would-be thief.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-17)

#8921

Its not fair nor is it right as the dog was protecting his family!

(PITT TOWN, 2017-09-17)

#8922

I'm signing because animal rights is a thing

(Townsville, 2017-09-17)

#8923

What ever happened to the rights of a home owner
The dog was only doing its job, the guy was breaking the law, unbelievable.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-17)

#8924

So wrong!

(Orange, 2017-09-17)

#8925

That poor dog does not deserve to die

(Sydney, 2017-09-17)

#8927

Winston was doing what he was meant to do. He was protecting his home and owners from an intruder. Good job Winston!!

(Quakers Hill, 2017-09-17)

#8930

We have a right to protect our homes! The dog is a hero, doing his job & protecting the family! Why do we give the crims so much power?!

(Darwin, 2017-09-17)

#8931

We have dogs in our homes (yes OUR propert to protect us... why the hell should this dog be punished for biting an intruder in the night!??? Why was the person there in the first place and where is the footage and proof of this "ALLEGED" person being attacked?! Not right! I call BS....

(Sydney, 2017-09-17)

#8935

I'm signing this because the dog was doing his job

(Sydney, 2017-09-17)

#8942

The dog was protecting his family. Why was that person on there property.

(Goulburn , 2017-09-17)

#8943

The dog was doing the right thing

(15 Oak Street Yungaburra Qld 4884, 2017-09-17)

#8944

Its rediculous the dog was guarding, why do we have dogs,? to alert us to danger.

(Morwell, 2017-09-17)

#8945

The dog was in it's own yard, protecting it's family. What rubbish that it should be seized and put down. The person who came into their yard is entirely at fault and should be dealt with, not the dog.

(Cairns, 2017-09-17)

#8947

its is wrong the dog did nothing wrong

(lake macqaurie, 2017-09-17)

#8948

Winston was protecting his home & the robber has no right to be breaking & enerting someone's home!

(Sydney nsw, 2017-09-17)

#8949

Are you kidding me ? If someone comes on to private property and gets bitten especially in the middle of the night then the dog is doing it's job. How dare you want to destroy this dog. Maybe you should be asking questions of the person who made the complaint instead and do your job and investigate before declaring a family pet dangerous. Mob of incompetent idiots.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-17)

#8950

This is Australia. When did we start to lose our right to have our digs protect and defend our property against unknown or unlawful intruders. This council needs to wake up.... morons.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-17)

#8952

I am a pet owner and I have had three dogs that had a man who was drunk in our backyard they let us know he was there

(Barmera , 2017-09-17)

#8953

Children can be discreetly cruel but the poor dogs always get the blame. Free this beautiful dog.

(RICHMOND HILL , 2017-09-17)

#8955

Im signing as this is just wrong and should not be happening. He bit an intruder and should definitely not be punished for protecting his family. Something more needs to be done to protect our animals from the cruel people out there.

(Kwinana, 2017-09-17)

#8956

Put simply this is the wrong thing to do

(Mackay, 2017-09-17)

#8958

The council need to prove the offence

(Hindmarsh Island, 2017-09-17)

#8960

Pets are part of a family and have rights too and one of them should be proof. Intruders/criminals have more rights than the average person

(Blackheath, 2017-09-17)

#8961

This dog was protecting his family and their property . This person was intruder breaking law .how does this work then. ? Criminal wins

(Mountain Creek, 2017-09-17)

#8962

This is unfair! The dog was protecting its property - isnt that a dogs 'job' - to defend and protect their family! Surely the intruder is in the wrong here. Common sense should prevail!

(Albury, 2017-09-17)

#8966

He was on his property and protecting it

(Melbourne, 2017-09-17)

#8967

This is unjust.

(Gladstone , 2017-09-17)

#8969

This dog was doing his job in protecting his owners & their property. The intruder is the criminal here, not the dog!

(Buderim, 2017-09-17)

#8972

The councils wrong to protect a thief/ trespasser . I reckon their insurance company would prefere a no claims outcome too with belongings being protected

(Adelaide, 2017-09-17)

#8973

So let me get this straight - some piece of shit low life goes prowling around your uncles property and the dog that was in its own property bit them and its being euthed because of this? which council is this? Please approach some newspapers, radio and TV about this - as this sets a really ugly precident

(Wellington, 2017-09-17)

#8974

Winston needs to go home to his family...intruders should not be protected ...
There is something very wrong here.

(Logan City, 2017-09-17)

#8975

Winston was doing what dogs do....protecting his owners and their property.
The guy that got supposedly bit was the trespasser. He should be the one getting charged.
What is wrong with our judicial system here???
This dog cannot be put down without proper evidence. Good luck guys

(Loganholme , 2017-09-17)

#8976

This dog was protecting his domain and should not be put down

(Hervey bay , 2017-09-17)

#8977

The entire purpose of guard dogs is to protect family and property, imagine what could have happened if the dog hadn't been there: theft, assault, worse? Pull your head in Mackay council.

(Hughenden, 2017-09-17)

#8978

He was doing the right thing. Its called protecting his property

(Goulburn , 2017-09-17)

#8979

This dog deserves to live.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-17)

#8985

As this is so wrong!! He was protecting his family kids, members and property... understand if he ran up and bit someone in daylight and while walking... but someone breaking in at night !! He was protecting his pack! Speak to any dog behaveral expert.. and dont police dogs do the same when they are being threatened??

(POINT VERNON, 2017-09-17)

#8988

Winston was protecting his owners property from an intruder. He has rights not the intruder.

(Cunnamulla , 2017-09-17)

#8989

Because he was protecting his family let Winston go free

(Baddaginnie, 2017-09-17)

#8990

You do not kill a dog for protecting its home and loved ones, You should be ashamed.

(TALLONG, 2017-09-17)

#8991

Injustice

(Goolwa, 2017-09-17)

#8992

No animal should be put down under these circumstances.

(Betwick, 2017-09-17)

#8993

Winston did what any loyal pet would do
This is getting ridiculous how local councils are playing the devils advocate
Grow some balls and let Winston go back to his family who he was protecting
What is it with some backward QLD councils?

(Glen Innes, 2017-09-17)

#8994

I don't believe this dog has done anything wrong. He was just protecting what was his. The intruder is in the wrong and should not have been trying to enter the property.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-17)

#8995

Winston does not deserve to be taken from his family.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-17)

#8997

Unfair that a dog protecting it's family is seen as dangerous.

(Townsville, 2017-09-17)

#8998

I'm signing because the intruder shouldn't have went on their property! Stupidity !

(Hobart, 2017-09-17)
