Change back graduation to Sept 2020 not Feb 2021!

I don’t think it’s right that the date should change after it has been in September for years

(Colyton , 2019-05-21)

#611

I think it’s terrible that my friend who has worked so hard and missed out on so much of her family time, has to wait 6months for her graduation and worse of all has to pick which of her children won’t be able to attend as the venue is not big enough so numbers have been limited

(Helston, 2019-05-21)

#614

I want to have my graduation at a sooner date after I finish. 6 months away after graduating is a very long time to still have that achieving feeling and to enjoy and to celebrate this amazing achievement.

(St Austell, 2019-05-21)

#618

This is not fair !!! The students deserve to qualify when they have finished there course, not at a time that suits the university!!!

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#619

Its ridiculous, working hard for a degree we should able to graduate in truro

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#620

I feel newly qualified nurses should be awarded their certificates as soon as after qualifying as possible so they can concentrate on their careers they have worked so hard for.

(Newquay, 2019-05-21)

#622

Since starting the course I've been looking forward to having the hoe as a beautiful graduation setting, it is heartbreaking for everyone on the course! There has been multiple changes to our cohort and this is the last straw. Having our graduation 6 months after qualitying is gutting.

(Torrington , 2019-05-21)

#625

We have all wired extremely hard through the degree and believe we are alldeserving of a graduation at a more pivitol time

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#630

Students should be able to receive the graduation they were promised. This is a huge milestone after working so hard and should be a big celebration in a timely manner not with a delay of 6 months and in a less favourable venue.

(Helston, 2019-05-21)

#632

To show my support

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#634

These people have earned their graduation. Get cracking and find a venue!

(Falmouth , 2019-05-21)

#635

It's important that Graduation is as promised in acknowledgement of the hard work, dedication and commitment to their future careers.
Anything else is an insult.

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#637

I am signing this because my wife has worked extremely hard to complete this course and should be given every bit of praise for her efforts in line with previous courses. Her course has already been victimised enough by budget cuts and lack of support, on top of having a debt over £50k.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#640

How can a graduation party be held 6months after graduation? And also at a different venue it's like having a Christmas party in July. I'm sure most would not have signed up to it had they known . Most of the graduates will more than likely be working on the wards by the time of the new arrangements. A very misleading original date and venue unless it was stated subject to possible changes. Honour the original offer , what could be easier than stick to what was promised in the first place. Disgruntled isn't the word.

(Blackburn , 2019-05-21)

#643

We have family that should be graduating together. Many families have planned for this day. The current change is unnecessary and far too drastic. Please change it back to September 2020!

(Juffair , 2019-05-21)

#647

I am also a student nurse who is upset with the graduation process.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#649

Graduation should remain in September. Students have worked too hard to wait till January for such a small reason, any many are not from Plymouth hence would have to revisit.

(Cheshire, 2019-05-21)

#651

How ridiculous. Let them graduate when they qualify and not months later.

(Newcastle , 2019-05-21)

#652

As a graduate myself I now how much the graduation event means to students. MOREOVER how much it means to families. Few families today consist of 3 people; there are grandparents, children and siblings to consifer too. By all means charge a small amount for further tickets. To have to wait a year is disgraceful and Plymouth University should be ashamed of themselves.
As a nurse i know how hard these students work; many juggling families too. Please give them the respect they deserve

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#658

I know how hard these students have worked. And deserve to graduate when they were first told they would.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#663

I’m signing because after three years of pure slog and paying a fortune in fees and living costs into the university and Plymouth...my daughter deserves her degree issued to her in the September!

(Cheshire, 2019-05-21)

#664

My daughters borrowed 10's of thousands to care and support her local community n deserves better than this.

(Falmouth, 2019-05-21)

#665

This is an absolute disgrace! On arrival at Plymouth university open day you are directed to a lecture hall where the opening video starts on the Hoe promenade with a graduation. To change the venue now is false advertising. They know that this will draw in future students and help in their university choices. We can normally have up to 10 tickets per student for this occasion now only 2?? How ridiculous! This will cause so many issues with many graduates. I understand it’s the Mayflower celebrations this year so why can’t it be held either side of these dates? Which I know Plymouth city council has offered!! This will cause so many problems for students taking time from their work commitments to attend a well deserved celebration that should’ve been the actual year they graduate. Absolutely shocking Plymouth University!

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#667

I graduated from Plymouth University as an adult nurse on the Hoe- with all those who mattered to me around me. My neice has worked so hard for the same degree and she deserves to have the same memorable experience with both of her parents being able to watch her achieve her goal. All nursing and AHP students but so much into our NHS unpaid and largely unrecognised by the wider public- they deserve to be able to graduate on time!.

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#671

The idea of standing outside Plymouth Guildhall, on a cold and wet February winters day, isn’t exactly an appealing way to graduate after three long, stressful years

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#676

They shouldnt have to wait for something that underlielnes the hard work to obtain such a noble career.

(truro, 2019-05-21)

#679

To help push the graduation forward. They’ve all worked so hard !!

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#683

I am a nurse too and we work so hard and give so much .

(Hayle , 2019-05-21)

#687

They work hard deserve itb

(Falmouth cornwall, 2019-05-21)

#691

This is outrageous, 3 years of hard work should not be extended by 6 months, they have earned the right to graduate when originally told

(Newquay, 2019-05-21)

#693

Our nurses of tomorrow deserve more consideration. Pls arrange this better.

(Truro , 2019-05-21)

#695

She is my daughter and deserves her graduation as soon as she has finished she deserves it after all the hard work

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#697

Graduates should not have to wait 6 months for their graduation.

(Truro, 2019-05-21)

#702

A year late and only two tickets for all the hard work they do seems very unfair

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#704

These people have worked extremely hard and made many sacrifices to achieve their qualifications, they are the backbone of the NHS, they should be able to celebrate their achievements in a timely manner and the city of Plymouth should be proud that they studied there and demonstrate how much they are valued!!!

(Redruth , 2019-05-21)

#707

I'm signing this as its utterly disgraceful that a person who has committed themselves to undertake a degree in nursing and is not able to graduate the year she qualifies despite previous years students being able to this.... very unfair

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#709

I'm signing because they deserve to have their hard work rewarded.

(Falmouth, 2019-05-21)

#712

People have made plans and deserve to have their celebrations untampered with.

(plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#715

Students deserve a timely graduation. They’ve given their all to their degree. Give them the graduation they deserve.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#719

I’m a nursing student at Exeter School of Nursing and I’m absolutely gutted & angry at this decision.

(Taunton , 2019-05-21)

#728

Graduation date should be as close to the end of the course as possible and not many months later

(Essex, 2019-05-21)

#731

I'm struggling and this means so much to me , it's a goal post. I want my family to be with me which is also a problem x

(Somerset , 2019-05-21)

#732

I have worked hard for 3 years to achieve my degree in which I deserve to graduate in 2020 not 2021 it’s not acceptable

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#734

Because i believe in this petition , and this petition will hopefully , bring the right outcome

(Plymouth , 2019-05-21)

#737

When we started our degree we were told sept 2020 for our graduation.. Nobody had consulted us about this change. Alot of the people on our course have travelled to Plymouth to do the course and will be returning home after, the general consensus is that they will not return in February to graduate. I for one am devestated after having some awful news from a family member who will now probably not make it to graduation.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#739

I've worked hard and want a proper graduation ceremony after completing my degree

(hemyock, 2019-05-21)

#740

I am signing because I feel it is unfair as the first paid cohort to have the raw end of the deal.. again!!

We have been the Guinea pigs for everything, yet are in debt up to our eyeballs.

And regarding the limitation to 2xtickets per student? How is it ok to have to choose between our children and our parents? It isn't good enough. I will not graduate if it happens in February 2021. I refuse to.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-21)

#743

My end goal was to graduate on Plymouth Hoe as promised by the uni when I started my nursing degree. Please do not take this away.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-22)

#749

As a student, I feel late graduation takes away a key achievement of university and final year. Many of the cohort will not be able to attend therefore it won’t be a celebration to enjoy with students missing.

(Plymouth, 2019-05-22)

#750

I think it’s disgusting that these hardworking students do not get the celebration they deserve. Not only are they studying, but they are studying one the hardest job sectors out there, both physically, mentally and emotionally. How much more are our nurses going to be treated like absolute rubbish, even before their full career has begun. Give them a good damn celebration for all their hard work and future hard work to come. Saving lives. It’s a pretty important thing

(Plymouth, 2019-05-22)

#754

Why should all these brilliant people have to be put back. So much is given and sacrificed to be able to graduate in September.
Don’t disappoint or dishearten our fabulous achievers because of another event that’s not even the same month.
Please work with our people and allow them this iconic moment in their lives xxx

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#757

I want to graduate in the same year!!

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#759

This may affect my attendance if I am allocated to work in February 2021.

(Devon, 2019-05-22)

#760

They should enjoy the moment whilst finishing their hard work not 6 months later when the moment has gone.

(Cornwall, 2019-05-22)

#762

As above

(Seaton, 2019-05-22)

#765

It’s extremely unfair to make us wait that long for our graduation

(Exeter, 2019-05-22)

#766

I am a student in Thai Cohort and its not fair to take the special day away from us that was promised

(Torquay , 2019-05-22)

#768

I am the cohort in front of this one and we were informed our graduation might not have been September and we were all extremely disheartened. When you work so hard for nothing and you do it because you care about those you provide a service for. It’s important the university and government do the same for us. We aren’t just numbers we are the future of the NHS.

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#771

I am a student that has to wait until February to graduate! So many of us have waited so long for this, it seems unfair we have to wait till the following year

(Newton abbot, 2019-05-22)

#772

I think the students have a right to graduate as others have before them they have worked so hard they should be aloud this moment to celebrate good luck students you deserve this special day and I hope you get it xx

(Plymouth, 2019-05-22)

#775

It’s the right thing to do

(Newquay , 2019-05-22)

#777

It’s unfair

(Plymouth, 2019-05-22)

#778

student nurse

(devon, 2019-05-22)

#783

Im signing this because i do not think it is fair that we have to wait to graduate until February. It should be as close to the normal graduation dates as possible

(Truro, 2019-05-22)

#784

I cannot believe that another suitable venue can’t be found in Plymouth.
Why not Mount Edgcumbe as an example?

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#794

I would like to graduate at the Hoe (the most significant and well known symbol of Plymouth) and in September rather than February because we’ve worked so hard for this and don’t deserve to have to wait a further 5 months until we graduate :)

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#795

I will have worked my backside off for 4 years so don’t see why my graduation should be delayed by 6 months!

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)

#796

My niece should have the graduation ceremony she deserves after all the hard work she has put in

(Dover, 2019-05-22)

#799

I think it would be a really shame to miss out on a graduation on Plymouth Hoe like all other cohorts and have to wait so long after qualifying. I think looking into graduation the following week of mayflower celebrations would be a better alternative. Many thanks

(Plymouth , 2019-05-22)
