I think all small businesses selling fresh produce should be able to open at level 3 & 4

Kristina Baxter (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2010

I am a small local flower farmer and this lockdown has severely impacted my business.

Sally Lush (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

I am a flower grower struggling to survive in the current climate.

Sue Knight (Kerikeri, 2021-09-09)

#2013

I love fresh flowers, they bring people joy, they should never be dumped.

Gail McGaghey (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2017

I’m signing because I supply plants to the cutflower industry and have heard and seen the effects lockdown has on the cutflower industry.

Katrina Hindmarsh (Palmerston North, 2021-09-09)

Businesses have it hard enough but this is just crappy. I like to have fresh flowers in my house, they just make my mental health better and it lifts me up to have them around. It's bad enough I'm locked down but this does not help.
I can't even send flowers to others to lift their day. There is no more contact for flowers than any of the other items available for sale but the benefits are just as important (if not more so) as getting any other type of goods. This govt is not making it easy for small businesses to thrive and I would hate to see anymore go out of business due to these stupid rules. Ok for some but not for others.

Helen Stewart (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2019

I want to support my friend who has a small floristry business .

Audra Lyons (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2020

Flowers should be considered perishable products and should be able to be sold during lockdown. They are also great for your mental health when stuck inside for days and weeks on end. Nothing like a beautiful bunch of flowers to improve your mood 🥰💐

Jessica Jacques (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2021

Save the flower farmers of NZ.

Katerina Howard (Waiheke Island, 2021-09-09)

Third is ridiculously stupid and we need to get with it and follow Europe. Open op. Let people live their lives

Flowers are essential for our wellbeing. Besides our physical wellbeing (and things we can consume or exercise we can do), our mental and emotional wellbeing are two major area that crumble in lockdowns. I know many of us would prefer to buy flowers than a bottle of wine. I know many who would love to send flowers to loved ones and those going through a hard time. They keep us connected, they keep us hopeful. Please consider this application, not only for the economy, but for the people’s mental health. Flowers are our symbol of hope.

Katie Addison-Saipe (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2028

I'm siging because flower growers are growers, there is very little people to people opportunity and they are growing highly perishable produce (flowers). They must be able to trade.

Natalie Willis (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2029

Flower growers need our support

Summer Acton (Upper Hutt, 2021-09-09)

#2031

I’m signing because it’s clear they can do it safely and doesn’t make sense to see so much waste and see them disadvantaged

Michelle Dawson (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2032

It's been utterly heartbreaking to see flower growers brought to their knees and unable to sell and distribute their blooms. It doesn't make any sense.

Sarah Phillipps (Cambridge, 2021-09-09)

#2034

This is devastating a beautiful industry

Roxy Allnutt (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2038

I own a small boutique floral studio in Whangarei and buy all my flowers from growers and markets in Auckland. I have received many requests for flowers during lockdown when people really need to give and receive flowers.

Rosebuds & Wild Floral Studio (Whangarei, 2021-09-09)

#2039

I need flowers in my life its a huge part if who Iam in New Zealand .

Natalie Churchward (Aucklane, 2021-09-09)

The flower community need help and support

Shayde Warhaft (Auckalnd , 2021-09-09)

#2061

Because no businesses should be closed if they can operate safely for staff and customers under any level.

B A Milton (Howick, 2021-09-09)

#2068

Flowers are essential for us to service our clients and our industry (event industry).

Fallon King (Christchurch, 2021-09-09)

#2069

If they are able to operate contactless and keep records there should be no reason they cant continue to harvest and distribute flowers.

Vicky Jack (Palmerston North, 2021-09-09)

#2074

These guys need our support !

Sally Fagence (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2081

In strict Lockdown levels how wonderful it would be to be able to purchase some beautiful flowers. All the work that goes into producing these blooms is wasted, money lost and people miss out. Please reconsider this stance.

Sue Hall (Te Awamutu, 2021-09-09)

#2085

As a self employed Florist I'm able to operate contactless in level 3. I'd love to continue supporting NZ growers during this time like I do in normal times. I believe that if they can cut flowers and dispatch them without contact then they should be allowed to. Flowers to myself and my customers are a source of happiness and are great for mental health, especially during these strange and unsettling times. It's also a way for family and friends to send love via blooms in a time when they cannot visit personally.

Linda Kirwan (Te Awamutu , 2021-09-09)

#2087

I am signing because not only is the delivery of flowers something that can easily be done in lockdown, same as multiple products available in supermarkets and online, but its a crying shame to discard fresh flowers!! They bring colour and joy. Which we need in lockdown.

Alison Reid (auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2089

I believe that flower farmers deserve fairer consideration and protection, and that flowers are as meaningful as some of the other goods still being traded under level 4. Let the flower farmers keep their livelihoods.

Krystal Wikeepa (Raglan, 2021-09-09)

#2090

It makes no sense for flowers not allowed to be sold. Contactless transactions and service delivery can be achieved.

Charmaine Marais (Rotorua, 2021-09-09)

#2093

Flowers are essential, they are good for the soul.
The growers work so incredibly hard, it’s just so sad

Sandi Miller (Cambridge , 2021-09-09)

#2096

I think it's heartbreaking that all of those beautiful flowers are going to waste and the growers hard work is not being taken into consideration; watching 1000.00's of dollars worth of stock destroyed would destroy my Mental Health let alone my wallet.

Jo Jordan (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2100

I'm signing because flowers are an essential part of mental wellbeing for myself and many people, and to support NZ's independent flower growers who are a key part of our economy.

Chanelle Carrick (New Plymouth , 2021-09-09)

#2101

I agree with the pwtition

Marissa Bale (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2103

Small businesses need all the help they be can get. Flowers should be essential for people’s well-being. There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t be sold or delivered.

Jo Clark (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2104

I'm signing as I am a grower and the fact that a make-up artist for Breakfast TV is an essential worker and that flower growers have to dump all there production week after week seems to me to be way out of balance.

Martin Muir (Waiuku, 2021-09-09)

#2105

I am a florist and want to support the flower growers of NZ as we need them to keep our industry alive!

Shani Hopgood (Invercargill, 2021-09-09)

#2112

This Government does not have the ability to think beyond the square.

Isobel Hutton (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2114

I lost over $8k worth of flowers in the first lockdown, this second one almost pushed me to the point of giving up

Jess Cooke (Christchurch, 2021-09-09)

#2118

Flowers are essential for mental health and the waste happening is quite shocking plus the huge income loss for these hard working farmers

Gaylene Powell (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2121

To save our local flower businesses

Megan Wheeler (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2125

I work in a florist shop and see the devastating waste and loss of income of our growers and suppliers and florists. It is a huge emotional, mental, and financial toll to have to destroy the flowers that so much hard work has gone in to growing. I'm especially saddened for our small local growers who will struggle so much more to catch up than the big guns who can continue to import from overseas (which puts costs up hugely as well, with a follow on effect to the florists who have to pass on to the customers, who will not be willing to pay up to $10 per stem for a flower!!)

Kama Marie (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2127

1. To save flower growers business's which could have to close.
2. Mental health and well-being is so important in times of the Delta Covid pandemic
3. A bunch of beautiful flowers can give joy and love to a ease loneliness and stress
SPREAD THE LOVE

Nora butler (Whangarei, 2021-09-09)

#2131

I’m a florist in Christchurch and see the joy flowers bring people- no different to wine, beer or chocolate.

At least let the growers shop out of Auckland or wherever L4 is. Supermarkets were still selling flowers. Please be equitable.

Karen Theobald (Chtistchurch, 2021-09-09)

#2137

I'm signing because I support the flower growers enabling then to still be able to sell cut flowers during and lockdown level especially lockdown 4

Kristina Cope (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2138

It is such a shame to see all these flowers go to waste, no different to contactless food delivery currently going on

Ariana Hond (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2145

I believe fresh flowers uplift not only the purchaser but their whole family. A great morale booster especially during lockdowns

Patricia O'Hagan (Napier, 2021-09-09)

#2147

I'm a flower grower and it was heartbreaking to loose so much product. My flowers only grow at this time of year so lockdown has significantly lowered my income for the year.

Mary Trevella (Lyttelton, 2021-09-09)

#2148

It’s wasteful to throw such hardwork away. From the seeds,to the flowers, to the growers, to the florists and tje consumer. Flowers are an essential to mental health and wellbeing for so many.

Wendy Woods (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2152

I’m signing because it’s such a waste of flowers. All flowers, vegetable growers etc should be able to work and carry on providing for Aotearoa in all levels.

Hope McNabb (Wellington, 2021-09-09)

#2155

I'm signing in because I work in horticulture industry and I feel devastated when we have to throw the flowers away every time we have lockdown as we work so hard to deliver the flowers to the customers.

Akiko Jones (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2157

I love flowers and want them not to go to waste! Flowers make people happy and help with mental health.

Luisa Barth (Wanaka, 2021-09-09)

#2163

Let them sell flowers!!

Raechel Hayes (Napier, 2021-09-09)

#2164

The people who grow and nurture their flowers and fruit and vegetables work hard and deserve to have their hard work recognised with a fair playing ground where they can sell their products like anyone else!

Melanie Steen (Wainui, silverdale, 2021-09-09)

#2168

I believe they should be able to do this contactlessly

Rachel Chapman (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2170

Our amazing growers deserve fairer protection and consideration!

Miranda Allen (Wellington , 2021-09-09)

#2171

Flower growers are essential

Ange Power (Whakatane, 2021-09-09)

#2172

If wine is “essential” so are flowers. They improve people’s mental health, they can be a symbol for hope in times where that feels all too impossible

Lily Rambeck (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2174

I hate to see waste of perfectly good perishables!

Florence Fournier (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2182

Flower farmers/growers provide a public service that supports the mental well-being of many.

Debbie Harvey (Auckland , 2021-09-09)

#2183

I buy a bunch of fresh flowers for my daughter every week and we are missing this weekly treat which is beneficial to our mental health!

Sonja Garelja (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2185

I want to support the local flower growers

Lois Fletcher Cush (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2186

I support the flower growers. Such a labour intensive job to get them to fruition and then to have to dump them is outrageous when contactless delivery is highly achieveable. Flowers great for boosting mental health especially in a pandemic!

Lynne Davis (Lower Hutt, 2021-09-09)

#2190

There has been many times I’ve wanted to buy flowers in level 4, for myself and others. If alcohol is deemed an essential product for the mental health then flowers 100% should be also.

Georgia Baker (Auckland, 2021-09-09)

#2192

It’s not fair or sensible to not allow flowers to be sold

Judith Smallbone (Rotorua , 2021-09-09)

#2193

The struggle for business owners is seriously real and we all deserve the support!
This industry has bern hit extra hard with no flower deliveries or events.

Mel Holyoake (Napier, 2021-09-09)
