A Safe Climate Future- Let's Fight Against Climate Change in Cameroon
We are moving a motion in the Nation calling on the Government, Business,and Organizations, to recognize that man-madeclimate. Change is one of the biggest and most urgent health Economy and social threats to our society, children and country.
Cameroon is already facing consequences of climate change, including an abnormal recurrence of extreme weather phenomena such as violent wind, high temperature and heavy rain fall endanger communities. Eco system and the service they provide. The consequence of climate change may undermine Cameroons efforts to reduce poverty, develop a strong diversified and competitive economy and strengthen national unity and consolidate the democratic process.
Together with peak health economy activist and expert bodies that are supporting a national climate change campaign and project to address the issues. “NO TIMES FOR GAMES” that acknowledges the Health,Economic, Agriculture, Human life impacts of climate change that include:
§ Heat related illness and death due to the increased temperature.
§ School children found with headache, fatigue, dizziness and Malaria were the most prevalent health problem.
§ Climate Change has increase the prevalence of parricide and diseases that affect live stock
§ Climate change has disrupt food availability, reduce access to food and affect food quality.
§ Fisheries have been affected by changes in water, temperature that make water more hospitable to invasive species and shift the ranges or life style turning on certain fish species.
We are demanding that our leaders take the action with urgently need committing to target like a just transition to 100% renewable energy and a net zero of carbon emission by 2030. In this fight for climate justice we need to ensure that everyone voice is head and also get ready to act.
We are seeing unpreceded temperature. We have shocking drought across the nation devastating local communities and farmers, Years of records breaking heat bearing down on our country and noxious emissions blanketing our communities. These event are causing terrible heath Economy, Agriculture impact which are going get more severe as the world continue to warm. The time is now to call the government to act quickly and decisively.
We will move the notion, that will urge the government to reduce the (Climate change) Health, Agriculture and Economy impact by de-carbonizing, recycling by 2030, which will decrease the incident of extreme temperature and more severe weather event.
