Change the 'Parkin Drawing Prize' to the 'Parkin Art Prize'

The Parkin Drawing Prize organisers are refusing to quote "wrap rules around" this prestigious drawing competition, with up $25000 top prize money given to art that doesn't resemble drawing in the slightest each year.  They have chosen to use controversy and debate as excuses for the reason to award this money to what should be classified as Modern Art, and have admitted there is only one person who's opinion matters: (Comment by Parkin staff on their facebook page): "Art is subjective and we ha

Remove our waka MAMARU from the Mamaru Clinic title

Mamaru Clinic has had our WAKA name embedded in their title for years, and for years they have FAILED to appropriately serve and treat the descendants of MAMARU WAKA. We deserve better service and a much better level of care for a clinic carrying a name with so much MANA, and yet fail to uphold the MANA of its descendants...  and for this THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO HAVE OUR WAKA NAME IN THEIR TITLE - I think it's time to make a stand and protest to have the name changed and or REMOVE OUR WAKA MAMARU

New Plymouth Girls' High School Vape Policy

Dear Stella Bond (Acting Principal), Currently, at New Plymouth Girls' High School there is no policy against students vaping on school grounds. This is an issue because vaping with high levels of nicotine has been proven to negatively affect the human body and can lead to addiction. Young people are at risk of being peer pressured by others to participate in this and as their brains are not yet fully developed they are unlikely to consider the longterm effects of vaping. TE WIWI NĀTI HAPŪ CLUSTER PETITION: THE ROAD

Our road from and between the Kaiinanga Hill to the end of the Tikapa and Awanui Roads is often unsafe and inaccessible, especially in the wet months.   Whānau still live in that valley, and people travel in and out daily for work, for school, or to visit other whānau. We are often not able to attend our marae hui. The Ambulance and Fire Services often can't attend emergencies there.   We are asking that the Gisborne District Council repair the road.  No more short-term patch-ups.   We need our

Save our Centre! Government funding essential to keep classes running for disabled children in Taranaki.

Conductive Education Taranaki has provided highly valued specialised sessions for kids with disablilites since 2017 without Ministry of Health funding.   Conductive Education has been part of New Zealand for over 25 years, with existing providers receiving Government funding. Centres in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington and Christchurch all hold Child Development Services contracts to support their service delivery.  We have to raise it all ourselves through exposure, events and activities! We the residents of Ngunguru and the Tutukaka Coast petition the Whangarei District Council and Roading NZ to develop and establish pedestrian zebra crossings at 1983 Ngunguru Road as well as at the intersection of Ngunguru Road and Shoebridge Crescent.  These two crossing points already receive a large amount of pedestrian traffic, particularly at the start and end of the primary school day and require signage and a pedestrian right of way for the safety of our children and community members. Preserve the Eskdale Park in the Esk Valley Napier

Petition summary: The HB Mountain Bike Club and the Hastings District Council have put forth a proposal to develop the Eskdale Park into a mountain bike hub with further future plans of development. This will take the direction of the Eskdale Park away from being the beautiful natural green country park it is currently. The Eskdale Park is the only country park in the Esk Valley area. It deserves to be protected and set up as a natural reserve and green space for families to enjoy both now and i

Ban all mink farming in Latvia

As i recently stumbled upon an article on facebook about where false lashes were made, and as someone who has purchased a fair amount i researched more into mink farms only to find out that "cruelty free" Mink lashes are NOT AT ALL "cruelty free" I watched a short youtube clip of an undercover activist that worked in the mink farms in Latvia and it had shown around hundreds of helpless minks all cramped in dirty cages being tortured and poorly treated. The activist had also mentioned that 8/10 m
