Saynotopaidparkingattownbasin

This petition is in response to the Whangarei District Councillors voting to introduce parking charges at our beautiful Whangarei Town Basin. The charge will be $2 per hour 7 days a week. There will be a very limited number of free parking in front of the children's playground but it has a time limit of an hour.  The impact of parking charges will affect the businesses in that area, families, loop walkers etc. To spend 2-3 hours  - walking the loop then stopping for a coffee, having brunch/lunch

Let butchers open during the lockdown

Many people including myself buy their meat at independent butchers rather than the supermarket. Now the butchers have been told they have to close as they are 'non-essential'.  We, the signers of this petition, disagree. It is unfair and makes no sense. A dairy and a greengrocer can open but a butcher next door cannot. Supermarkets shouldn't be given a monopoly on the sale of meat. CAP SOUTH WAIRARAPA DISTRICT RATE RISES TO 2% FOR THREE YEARS

South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC) consultation documents create an impression that the SWDC is raising rates by only 2%. That is not the case. The Council plans to increase its annual operating expenditure by 18% for next year – see page 24 of Council’s supporting information for consultation. There is smoke and mirrors around the figures but it is clear that rates will rise over the longer term from Council’s proposals this year by at least 13%, and likely more especially if the Greytown
