PETITION FOR TRAFFIC CIRCLE CORNER 10TH AND ANDERSON STREETS MENLO PARK

Residents request a traffic circle on the corner of  10th and Anderson streets  Menlo Park for the safety of their children.

We the residents, parents, teachers  and businesses of Menlo Park request the City of Tshwane Metro Municipality to construct a traffic circle at the intersection of Anderson and 10th streets Menlo Park as well as speed bumps to reduce the speed of traffic. This intersection is very busy causing dangerous conditions for the school children and parents as well as the general public. The intersection is surrounded by a Primary School, an After-School Centre, and a High School close by. A lot of children from these facilities cross the road daily and the 4-way crossing’s Stop-signs gets ignored because of the lateral positioned Cul de Sac entries. Drivers assume there will not be side traffic. The increased development and densification in the area and in 10th street will make this worse. Despite new developments no funds are spent to upgrade the road network. The safety of our children hangs in the balance.
