A vote of no confidence in the Mayor and Several councillors of the DCC

Comments

#2001

This mayor has no idea. Realistically and informatively neglecting to notify public and asking there opinion on what the city needs are and not what they think they need from a corporate clown

Dave Tairi (Alexandra, 2020-05-31)

#2002

He’s a moron who loves to waste money that is not his!

Dominic Wiparata (Duneind, 2020-05-31)

#2005

I’m signing this because our Council does not consult the people who pay their wages and waste tax payers hard earned money. They are incompetent and must go now before their decisions ruin our beautiful city.

Phyllis Clarkson (Dunedin , 2020-05-31)

#2007

I have lost all confidence in the mayor and some councillors.

Murray Wilson (Duedin, 2020-05-31)

#2008

I agree that this mayor seems to be doing whatever he wants without the required consultation processes. He needs to listen to the ratepayers and business owners of NZ. It seems that the petition against closing the main street to vehicles has ruffled feathers so they have "compromised" by intending to make the speed limit so slow that vehicles avoid using it anyway.

Jessie Turner (Dunedin, 2020-05-31)

#2011

The octagon is a joke ! We have 2 houses rate payers are paying for that ! And will he increase rates to ? Does he not drive a manual car ??? It's a joke and so is he

Davine Mercer (Dunedin , 2020-05-31)

#2012

I have zero faith in Aaron Hawkins and the ridiculous decisions he is making

Vick Robertson (Outram, 2020-05-31)

#2015

As a young family we cant afford for our rates to go up esp with what the Council is spending the money on.

Nicole Ward (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2028

I have no confidence in the currant mayor and the majority of the councillors, they have their heads in the clouds when it comes to making decisions affecting the population of our city, listen to the people!

Pat Winton (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2029

I believe you are not listening to your people..... At all. Re George st

Craig Taylor (Dunedin , 2020-06-01)

#2035

Spending money that makes no improvements to the city.

Karen Johnston (Dunedin , 2020-06-01)

#2037

Through these very tough times where businesses are closing and jobs are being lost. The council wastes money on these ridiculous things. If they want to spend money put it in to local businesses that are struggling to stay afloat. They need to listen to the people. I wont shop in cpd now!!

Julie Walker (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2038

I just cannot believe what is happening to our home, ‘Dunedin’, the Main Street turned into a ‘Board Game’, threatened with ‘Speed Bumps’ on our Main Street if we don’t behave and adhere to the ridiculous 10kms speed limit. Now we are to jump with joy with a ‘D’ to market our city, suspect Dunedin we have a bit of a problem, come on we deserve better than this, our elected officials have no respect for us, they know best it seems.

C Williams (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2039

As far as I can see the mayor and his council are just wasting the rate payers money
They don’t even ask what we the citizens of Dunedin would like

Anthea Workman (Dunedin , 2020-06-01)

#2042

Because it is dangerous and ludicrous to try an drive along a street at 10kms. It's a road, an access to services. My car is a 2018 Mazda 2 it doesn't drive at 10kms without messing with the flow and Isostop.

Michelle Mielnik (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2046

Because they focus on the wrong stuff.

Richard Leckie (Dunedin, 2020-06-01)

#2047

The council are making dreadful decisions now without communicating with us,

Gretel Mcdonald (Dunedin , 2020-06-01)

#2050

Some of the very expensive decisions made eg spots on road, tacky octagon, artificial flowers and Destination D have cost rate payers dollars that would have been better spent in improving the city not making us a laughing stock.

Liz Labes (Dunedin, 2020-06-02)

#2055

I split my time between Dunedin and Christchurch and I grew up in Dunedin

Dylan Wilson (Christchurch, 2020-06-02)

#2063

Even though I do not live in Dunedin anymore, I visit family down there on a regularly and on my last before Lockdown I was disappointed with how the city is looking and how the ratepayers are being treated. Everything decided by council should have public consultation.

Gary Russell (Otaki, 2020-06-02)

#2066

They are ruining our city. Lack of carparks, businesses suffering and closing. Barnes dance lights that bring traffic to a standstill and backs it up through 3 intersections. They have their own agendas and ideology for our beautiful city that is suffocating it. 🥺🥺

Jackie Peperkoorn (Blackhead, 2020-06-02)

#2067

I think the speed limit is ridiculous , dangerous for motorists to abide by without riding brakes and the dots were a total waste of rate payers and local community's money , this mayor has hidden agendas for Dunedin that is not in the public of Dunedins best interest

Jared Laing (Dunedin , 2020-06-02)

#2068

I believe the council and the mayor are not listening to the people and have their own agenda

Kevin Thompson (Dunedin, 2020-06-02)

#2069

I think those dots and the speed limit is absurd there's not enough parking as it is and it will damage alot of businesses that are already struggling due to the pandemic.

Vanessa McCutcheon (Dunedin , 2020-06-02)

#2070

They have no idea what they are doing

Jayson Carmichael (Dunedin , 2020-06-02)

#2072

i have no confidence at all of this Mayor or half of the Councillors of the DCC very bad for our lovely City

brian scott (Otago, 2020-06-02)

#2073

I believe the council is out of touch with the citizens of Dunedin and acting indendently....

Richard Brooks (DUNEDIN, 2020-06-02)

#2077

I'm not happy with the forced push on pedestrian friendly roads in dunedin

Adam Hartley (Dunedin, 2020-06-02)

#2078

Lack of transparency. They show complete contempt of the citizens opinions or their circumstances

Joan Cole (Dunedin, 2020-06-02)

#2080

I'm signing because this guy is hung up on all the wrong modifications to Dunedin city how about fixing the shit we already have here an provide more entertainment, an there's so much smashed up stuff on the roads for example kaikorai valley opposite cableways givewaysign been smashed out the ground ...Stuart st wall still smashed up get a clue mate learn your priorities

Rick Scott (Dunedin, 2020-06-03)

#2083

Our new mayor is completely incompetent leaving our city in disrepair while spending money on silly things before fixing other stuff that are off high priority, like do we need blue dots painted all over our main street while street lights aren't working in particular areas where it is a safety concern for example

Nicki Hall (Dunedin, 2020-06-03)

#2084

The painted circles are confusing to pedestrians and drivers alike and the 10kph speed limit is ridiculous and definitely not ' green' .The council approving this expenditure shows a lack of good stewardship of rate payers money in this economic climate.

Rhonda Glass (Dunedin, 2020-06-03)

#2087

The current DCC is not fit to lead as they do not consult and don't see the need for such.

Dale Neill (Dunedin, 2020-06-03)

#2088

He's a dick who doesn't take into consideration what his people really want

Natalya Tetlow (Dunedin, 2020-06-03)

#2090

This sort of totalitarian action seems to becoming the norm in NZ politics. The public no longer count, and are being run like sheep into a pen.

Murray Patterson (Dunedin, 2020-06-04)

#2091

I'm signing this petition because of my concern that our beautiful historic city is being ruined by a Mayor and Councillors unsympathetic to our city and our people. Maori Road, an arterial route is an example of their arrogant and undemocratic decision making.

Louise Hunter (Dunedin, 2020-06-04)

#2092

The waste of money on sports
Decisions being forced through
Lack of listening to the residents
Too many pushing their own agendas

Michelle Ryan (Mosgiel, 2020-06-04)

#2096

Not enough space to list my complaints .

Marj Latta (Dunedin, 2020-06-04)

#2098

mayor aaron is not hearing what dunedin is loudly and clearly saying;dont change george st or the octagon, dont push your noncar ownership onto a city reliant on vehicles to visit the city centre ,the beach and mountain edges

robbitti stanley (dunedin, 2020-06-04)

#2099

This council is totally wasting rate payers money.

Danna Reeve (Mosgiel, 2020-06-04)

#2104

Staff and Councillors are failing to follow the Local Government Act for consultation on community issues and outcomes.

Christopher Arbuckle (Wanaka, 2020-06-08)

#2110

No faith in this council wasting rate payers money and getting us further in dept

Raymond Baker (Dunedin, 2020-06-10)

#2111

Because I so totally agree that Dunedin is doomed if we all sit back and let these councillors and the Mayor continue to only follow their own agendas with no thought for the the rate payers

June Aerakis (Dunedin , 2020-06-10)

#2112

I dont like this new mayor and some of his colleagues. Mainly benson-pope.

Brent Taggart (Dunedin , 2020-06-11)

#2115

The dcc are hopeless

Gaey Topping (Dunedin , 2020-06-11)

#2117

I am concerned that the council have no appreciation for their citizens financial well-being. We are responsible for the huge level of debt that they are burdening us with.
Stick to the essential services and delay any big ticket items.
As a ratepayer. I am already looking at all my costs so I live with in my means. So should the council.

Rosemary Cookson (Dunedin , 2020-06-11)

#2119

We were told there would be no rates increase and we are now getting a 4% increase. The money they have wasted on 'arts' the main street being closed from traffic for pedestrian use (what's wrong with the foot paths) and a few other reasons...

Chelsea Bond (Dunedin , 2020-06-11)

#2122

The action of the Mayor and sone councillors is corrupt.

Dereck Gray (Dunedin, 2020-06-15)

#2123

The mayor is incompetent.

Kaye Gray (Mosgiel, 2020-06-15)
