Safer streets with safer lighting

The above picture is Allen Bell Bridge at 6.15am. One of many bridges with insufficient lighting & unsafe footpaths due to lack of lighting which is hazardous. We as a community should be able to walk our streets safely, day and night without fear! Township streets should not be restricted because of the lack of street lighting. Recently I was approached and stalked by a person in a dark area which left me shaken and afraid. I’ve reported the incident to the police and have brought this upon

Stop the Stench! Cover Seaview Wastewater Treatment Plant

Did you know that approx 7000 people work in the Seaview/Gracefield Industrial Estate? not to mention the number of people from surrounding residential areas who drive through it every day.... Did you know that the odour from the Waste Water Treatment plant affects property values in the area? Did you know that the treatment plant frequently apologise for the stench they create to the local businesses in writing, meaning there is no denying that the smell is coming from them? Technology is ava

A local skid pad for new plymouth

The car scene in New Plymouth is asking for signatures around getting help from the council to build a skid pad out of the way of residential areas, so we can provide the enthusiast's with a spot to do what they love without disrupting the public and the cops. This petition will be attached to an email sent to the council as a way of hopefully showing them the money will not go to waste

Instalment of an enclosed dog park in Upper Hutt

As a Upper Hutt resident I would like to get the council to put in an enclosed dog exercise area. Currently I have to travel to Plimmerton or Wellington to access one.   An enclosed dog exercise area would be a great space to socialise dogs and exercise them off leash safely.

Fund Immunotherapy In New Zealand

Prebrolizumab, keytruda is one of many immunotherapy treatments in New Zealand that are not funded by Pharmac and the New Zealand government. This is unacceptable. Many families are unable to pay for the treatment which can cost $7000 or more a month. Our petition "That the House of Representatives approve extra funding to Pharmac so that the drug pembrolizumab can be made available to all New Zealanders with advanced melanoma, regardless of socio-economic status."

Localised Hunting

Under New Covid-19 level 3 guidelines you are allowed to travel within your region for essential purpose, go for day walks, surfing, bike riding and fishing, all of which you need to be experienced. I write on request that localised hunting is reconsidered for experienced hunters. This is how we exercise our working dogs, exercise ourselves, keep our freezers full for our families, bonding time with our family bubble and general well being. In these hard economic times sourcing our own meat is e

A Desperate Plea to Bring Me Back Home!

Kia Ora, I am a resident of Hawkes Bay and it has been my home for close to 6 years while I work for the Hawkes Bay District Health Board as a Procurement Specialist. I am a staunch believer of the Gandhian philosophy in giving back to the community that one lives in, which led me to serve as board member for Hawkes Bay Multicultural Association, Hawkes Bay Young Professionals and the Napier Toastmasters. Last year I was presented with an opportunity to best serve my community and it was also th

State highway 35 users against the speed restrictions that come into force on the 8th September 2020.

We are opposed to the permanent speed restrictions, from Pouawa to Okitu (100km/hr down to 80km/h), and the seasonal speed limit being reduced to 60km/hr. We want the speed limit left at the current level, instead other safety measures should be looked at. We believe that the speed reductions will further isolate the East Coast communitys, and only add to fatigue for all road users.

Let butchers open during the lockdown

Many people including myself buy their meat at independent butchers rather than the supermarket. Now the butchers have been told they have to close as they are 'non-essential'.  We, the signers of this petition, disagree. It is unfair and makes no sense. A dairy and a greengrocer can open but a butcher next door cannot. Supermarkets shouldn't be given a monopoly on the sale of meat.
